Mao mao kept his word. They all went to the kitchen and sat on the table. The crew told the bounty hunter everything about the criminals. How they had tricked the entire village to give them their belongings for three years. They explained how they had gotten rid of them by setting up a trap at a cabin and how Adorabat had launched them into the sewers. After giving that info, they decided to go into the woods and check the place where the strange man had been last seen.

When they arrived at the cabin, everything looked the same. They parked their vehicles in the grass just outside the small house. It was located in an area of the forest without much life. The grass and the bushes were grey and the trees surrounding had no leaves on them. The house was made out of old logs and needed as much maintenance as always. The roof was covered in hay. The windows were covered with boards and cloths. The inside was not any better. It was dusty and there was broken furniture. Nothing with actual value was left since it had all been returned. It was clear that no one had been there for a long time. Adorabat was happy that she had scared them away enough so that they, in fact, never returned.

"You said you 'launched them into the sewers', right?" Tanya asked.

"Yeah! Through the entrance, right there" Adorabat confirmed as she pointed towards an opening just below a mountain. It was made out of concrete in the inside and had green water running through a canal that disappeared under the grass. The animals walked towards the entrance to inspection it. The water flowed gently, and the smell of waste became stronger the closer they got. Badgerclops and Adorabat made a sound in disgust as they covered their mouths and shrieked. Mao mao unconsciously moved his nose a little. He did not like the smell, but it was not anything he could not take. Tanya got even closer. She put her hand on the concrete arc of the entrance and sniffed.

"Wait, we aren't going in there, are we?" Badgerclops asked loudly.

"No need. I know where it leads" Tanya answered as she turned her head around to face the others. She had a smile on her face.

"Tanya, last time I checked sewers are connected to multiple places," Mao mao said.

"Well, yes, but it this one leads to a specific place where we could get information"

"How do you know it leads there?" Adorabat asked while she lifted herself a little bit from Badgerclops's shoulder "Don't all sewers smell the same?"

"Not really. People from different places eat different things, you know?" Tanya joked.

"Gross!" Mao mao said as he made a gesture in disgust alongside Badgerclops. Both of the girls giggled.

"But really, they serve a unique type of beer with a very strong and distinctive smell" Tanya assured. "I happen to be used to it as well"

Mao mao sighted "of course you are. Is it a bar?" He asked

The tanuki limited herself to grin and give him a wink. Then she walked up to her truck and got on. "Let's go"

They flew across the forest for some time, until they reached a clear area that was almost completely dead. The grass was not only gray, but there was almost none of it. It was mostly dirt, and surrounding the circular area there were trees. They were tall and still had a few leaves, although they were mostly orange. In the middle of the circle, there was a cottage that had some motorbikes parked at the front.

They parked their vehicles behind some bushes located at the back of the bar, they were considerably distant from the building, from which loud conversations could be heard.

They approached the front door and went inside. As they went in, the loud chatting became a little silent. Animals of all kinds looked over to see who had arrived. They made sure to acknowledge the presence of the new customers. Adorabat hid behind Badgerclops's shoulder and had a nervous expression. Badgerclops avoided eye contact and stayed silent. In front of him, Mao mao took a discreet look at everyone present. He prepared himself mentally to grab his katana if things got out of hand. Meanwhile, Tanya calmly led the way to the counter. After a few seconds, the other animals went back to their conversations. However, this time they were a little quieter. Behind the counter, there was Jackal with a worn-out bandana and hat, he was not exactly "overjoyed" to see Tanya.
