Ever since I was little, I always dream of being an author and having my own novel, even though my mother didn't care, so as my father, but that won't stop me from dreaming. It all started when my aunt from abroad gave me a book, the cover was attractive so I decided to read it. They said don't judge the book by it's cover." But for me whatever is inside the book the cover shows it. I admit, I'm a little judgemental. While I was reading the book I found it interesting, I was inspired by that author so I dreamed to be like her someday. I was in my room writting another story when a voice bring back me to reality.

"You never run out of ideas, don't you?" It was my brother Rick. He sat on my bed beside me while I was sitting on my swivel chair.

"Ahuh." I smiled at him.

"What is the story about?" He asked out of the blue.

"Why? Are you interested?"

"Am I?" He rolled his eyes "It's obvious."

"Oh gosh." I cover my mouth as I stare at him shockingly "For the first time!"

"Ah shut up. You're ruining my image just answer my question."

I burst out laughing.

"What's funny?" He asked annoyed.

"You!" I clutched my stomach which hurts from laughing.

"Whatever Mae." He just walked out not even closing the door! Agh. What I hated the most.

I just left the door open while I continue my story..

I want to make a romantic genre. The story is all about a princess who was desperate and was in love to a prince. She's a spoiled brat, whatever she ask to her father the king will be there in just a snap of a finger. One day she asked her father to marry the prince and for the first time her father disagree. That's when she knew she was her brother but adopted. Lame right?

I was continuing my story when a knock bring me back to reality once again. Why do people keep disturbing me?

"Lunch time sis." It was my brother. Jack.

"I'll skip."

"Dad will be furious."

"I don't care."

"Whatever, suit yourself...And oh, brother John is home."

I quickly turn to take a glance of my brother if he's really telling the truth. Whenever John was coming home he would directly inform my parents, and probably they won't inform me. John is a seaman and the second youngest. He came home every 3 months of the year. I'm sometimes confused that why all of my brothers are now graduated while I'm still studying and my parents are now on they're 50's. I'm only 10, and women commonly have their menopause at the age of 40+.

"Really?"

"Welcome home Johnny!" I heard my mother's voice from downstairs. My eyes widen. I take another glance to my brother who's now giving me a I-told-you-so-look slash smirk. I jumped off from my chair and run downstairs and spotted my brother with a luggage and sitting on the sofa talking to mother. Probably telling stories about his journey.

He spotted me and his smile widen.

"Sister-mine!!" He stood up and spread his arms for a hug. I ran up to him and hugged him like I never seen him for years.

"I missed you!" I exclaimed.

He broke the hug and looked at me with a smile. "So do I. I have something for you."

"Really?" I chirped happily

"Ahuh." He showed me a novel. My favourite novel I dreamed to have! "P.S I Still Love You" by Jenny Han!

"Oh gosh!!" I hugged the book "Thank you brother-mine!"

"Anytime sister-mine." He smiled and pat my head.

"Another novel? You're making her head even more bigger." My smile faded when I heard my mother's voice. I don't know if it's a complement or a threat.

"Well, that means she'll be smarter." My brother complemented me and I smiled at him.

"Smart enough to talk back."

I can see disappointment on my brother's face. He was about to talk back but I gave him a don't-look.

He just sighed. I appreciate that my brother was defending me. Than being an author I also dreamed of being a lawyer. I wan't to defend innoccent people even though I can't defend myself, people might think that I'm disrespectful.

We're having lunch together while telling stories, while I just listen to them. I never join in their conversation, not especially when my parents are here they might judge me again.

"So when will be your next trip?" My dad asked John.

"After 3 months." He replied.

"Ah that's good. You'll be with us until Christmas." My mother smiled.

I wish she could smile at me like that..

"Yeah, I can't wait. I also want to travel with my sister here in the city. Right sister-mine?" All attention are at me which made me nervous. Mom's smile faded and dad looked at me as if he'll burry me alive. Rick looked at me as if he's asking if there's something wrong on the other hand brother Jack just look at me emotionlessly.

"A-ahh...R-right!..I'm e-excited too.." I stuttered. Why do I always fail at acting. I want to fade right here, right now. I hate myself.

"Is there something wrong?" My brother Rick asked me.

"No-"

"She doesn't even help cleaning the house, even a simple job like washing the plates. She can't do it." My mother cut me off. I just stared at the food and not paying attention to what my mother said. I'm used to it.

"I know she can." John argued. I'm lucky to have a brother like him.

I want to cry right now but I can't. They might think that I'm a weakling. I want to be in my room right now, I felt my tears forming in my eyes so I quickly finish my lunch. I hate myself for not holding my tears back.

"Manners Mae." My father told me.

I didn't pay attention to what he said. As soon as I finished my lunch I quickly stood up and marched to the kitchen and put my plate on the sink and ran up to my room.

I locked the door and that's when a tear rolled down on my cheek. Then another one, and another one. Another one after another.

I want to burry myself alive. I was so embarrassed. In front of my brother who just arrived. I ruined his homecoming.
