The Magic Within (Elsa x Female Reader)

Peppermint's Disappearance

Elsa POV: 

I woke first the next morning only to find we weren't lying against Peppermint. Instead we were lying completely on the ground. I looked around but couldn't see him anywhere. I woke y/n who immediately did the same. "Where's Peppermint?" There was a hint of worry and desperation in her voice. "I don't know. I woke up and he was gone." I told her as I tried to calm her down. "We have to find him, we can't lose him again!" She stood up and began searching the entire area. "Y/N! You need to calm down. We can't find any clues if you're panicking like you are." "Do you have a better plan Elsa?" She asked. I couldn't tell if she was serious or being sarcastic, maybe both. "As a matter of fact, yes I do. We can search for hoof prints and check for any damaged branches in case he ran off." I knew it was better than having y/n running around not being able to search for clues due to being so panicked. 

Y/n looked as though she was trying to decide if she should go along with the plan. "Okay fine but it had better work." She said clearly not happy about finding Peppermint her way. I simply nod my head in response and we began searching for any clues that may be lying around. "Seriously though, this has to be a record of some sort for losing a reindeer. We must have chased after him several times." She said. "To be fair, the last time he was chased by wolves and was trying to escape. By the way, is he the type of reindeer to wander off by himself?" I asked. "Do you think I would be acting this way if he did?" I sighed and continued searching for clues. After a while of searching, I eventually found some hoof tracks leading in the direction we should be heading anyway. I called her over, "Y/n, come here! I found tracks!" I use my magic to create an ice horse and we both mount up. We gallop and followed the tracks.

As we continued to follow them, I realised we were reaching the end of the forest. Once we reach the end, the tracks just stopped. "How is that possible? The tracks just end here!" Y/n said. "Did he turn direction?" I asked looking around for any other hoof prints. There was none. She was right it wasn't possible for hoof prints to stop without a trace. "The only thing I think could have happened is if something big enough with wings took him but I'm not sure what that could be." As if on cue, a loud roar sounded throughout the place. I turned to the direction it came from which was just outside the forest. 

A powerful looking creature with bat-like wings flew towards us. It had four legs, a long tail and neck. It was blue and scaly and almost resembled some kind of reptile but I just couldn't place it. At least until y/n yelled, "DRAGON!" "But that was impossible, dragons aren't real!" I told her. "That angry flying demon is a dragon! Clearly they do exist!" I instructed the ice horse to get us to safety. "Wait, what are you doing?" She asked. "Getting us away from that thing. I don't exactly want to be torched by it." I told her. "But that is the only creature around here big enough to take Peppermint! We have to follow it when it stops chasing us." Honestly, this woman can be insane sometimes and I'm the one saying that. I sighed irritated and halted the ice horse.  

Once we came to a stop, y/n dismounted. "What do you think you're doing?" I asked her worriedly. I really hope she isn't about to do something reckless. She ignored me and continued walking in the direction of the dragon. When she was in view of the dragon, she stopped as though she was waiting. I watched hoping she wasn't about to do what I think she was about to do. The dragon approached her but instead of it taking her, she grabbed onto its tail and was lifted up into the air. I saw it fly off with her and grunted in annoyance and galloped after them. Why did she have to be so careless? She doesn't even know if that thing has Peppermint or not. Guess now I'm chasing after them and hopefully I'll find Peppermint too.
