Destiny

Is this my destiny?  

To love you with my burning heart, 
Until Heaven goes up in flames and hell freezes over? 

Surely this world holds more for me than unrequited love. 

I have stood by you when no one else did, 
But you leave me now once you can stand again. 

Laughter freezes in my throat, 
Tears burn my eyes, 
And I am alone again.
