MY BRAIN FELT like it would explode out of my head. It felt like torture, this plane ride. Even though I usually enjoyed first class, this time I'd rather be anywhere else.
Anywhere else than going to California
It had been two weeks since my parents last dropped the NorthView bomb on me. It had been half a month filled with sadness, goodbyes and crying.
I would miss New York, it had been my home from my very first breath. I knew the map like the back of my hand, all the hidden shops, the best hang out spots and the secret restaurants and cafes, tourists didn't know of. I never imagined I would have to leave.
It was all because of that bitch
Because of her, I had to leave my home, my school; Lakewood, my life, and my best friends, Quinn and Ashley. We had known each other since 1st grade,when Quinn and I stuck up for Ashely.
We had been inseparable since, until now.
However, we made sure to make the most of the two week long winter break before I had to leave; girls nights, shopping, parties, spa days galore and everything and anything else we could think of.
I had done substantial research on NorthView Academy, trying to find any flaw to convince my parents to let me stay in New York. But, as expected there was none. It was the all-around perfect school; bright pupils, competitive athletes, talented artists and more. Only the rich, talented, and geniuses could afford to go the Academy, which made it all the more prestigious and elite.
Back in New York, I had convinced my parents to let me go to a reasonable private school, one with normal middle class students. I had made a deal with them; if I got suspended or expelled they would enroll me in the school of their choice. I had agreed, but I never expected their "school of choice" to be halfway across the country.
I let out another sigh, running a hand through my wavy black hair. I glanced out the airplane window and at the clouds that swam around the aircraft. I reached for my Dior Lambskin bag, pulling out my phone. Growing up, I was always a girl that enjoyed luxury, shopping and of course, a good designer bag. I just couldn't help myself from a collections newest and hottest handbag. I enjoyed the feeling of owning something exclusive, something most people can't get their hands on until months if not seasons later.
I pulled out my signature crimson lipgloss and painted the color onto my lips, smacking them together lightly. As I put it away, I couldn't help but bask in the feeling of familiarity.
For the remaining time of the flight, I looked through all my memories over the years, reminiscing all the documented moments. A couple hours later, I was awakened from my thoughts as the intercom blared;
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Los Angeles International Airport. Local time is 3:43 pm and the temperature is 79 degrees Fahrenheit.
For your safety and comfort, please remain seated with your seat belt fastened until the Captain turns off the Fasten Seat Belt sign. This will indicate that we have parked at the gate and that it is safe for you to move about.
On behalf of American Airlines and the entire crew, I'd like to thank you for joining us on this trip and we are looking forward to seeing you on board again in the near future. Have a nice day!"
It wouldn't be nice alright
