The sun was high, the small town bustling as the day moved on. Everyone moved between locations, shopping, working, or simply passing through. All, but a short girl, pale skin and orange hair. Her tall bunny ears held people's gaze, some children even stopped too stare. She had been standing in front of a billboard for job listing, reading down each one. She heard a rumor about the town, and needed to check things out herself. Her foot thumped as she read, finally seeing a much older paper hidden up in the corner[ Perception-Crit 25]. New listings covering it. She tried jumping to get it, but was still to short[ Athletics- 13]. "Come... On!" She grunted as she reached. Finally a hand came above her head, grabbing the old parchment for her. "Need some help?" The man purred, handing it down to her. "Thank you!" She smiled accepting the paper. "I sure hope something as small and cute as you isn't planning on taking on that beast..." The man hummed lowly. "You betcha I am!" She cheered. "He will eat you alive..." His voice carried briefly. "This town needs a hero. I am a hero!" She stood as tall as her frame would allow, confidence beaming. "Well, it was nice talking to you bunny girl. See you in the next life." The man nodded with a wave as he stepped away. She frowned at him, but moved back to her mission. After searching for a while within the town, she was unable to find much information on the creatures whereabouts[ Investigation- 9]. "Please sir, can you tell me a general location for this beast?" She held up the paper, but the man only glanced before walking away. [ Persuasion-11]Just as everyone else had done before hand. She frowned taking in the town, nobody wanted too help... She hummed thinking oof a new plan before her eyes set onto a group of kids playing nearby. [ Perception- 17] She smiled walking up to the kids, it was easier since most of them were her height as well. "Hey guys wanna help me out?" She asked holding the paper out. "You're going after the beast?!" A Younger child gapped. "I am, anyone know the right way to start going?" She asked, bumping her eyebrows a bit. [ Persuasion- 17]They all seemed to look towards one boy at the end of the group. "I know where it is. That beast almost killed me..." She listened for a while as the kid exaggerated his story. Eventually she got enough information to start her search. She found a path ending into a thick forest. "Let's do this! I can be a hero!"She smiled stepping in. The woods were thick, making her easily become lost for a while.[ Nature- 6] Upon stopping and reevaluating her movements, she began a new direction.[ Investigation - 16] Wondering around the forest, checking on his traps, he stops too make sure a snare was still operating properly. He uses a stick to trigger and make it snap. Unaware of[ Perception-5] the being coming near, following his trail. The snap of a trap caught her attention, She hunkered down low[ Stealth with advantage- 16] into the bushes for coverage as she took in the dreaded beast. It's horns suggesting this was who everyone was afraid of. She is able to sneak closer as the beast fiddles with the metal trap. She sucked in deeply Using her rabbit feet to jump high into the air at the beast. As she landed on the side of a tree trunk she casted her primal savergrey before launching again. The man sat up a little more, hearing the gentle scrapping just as he turned she landed on his shoulder, ripping into him [ Primal savagery-6 damage-9 acid]. He winced a little from the acid, but ultimately smiled at the bunny ears rubbing along his face. "That was an excellent attack, normally I notice sneak attacks." He chuckled making her lean back in shock. "You have met your doom beast![ Intimidate-9]" She tried to sound powerful and and intimidating, but he was not phased. "That's a shame, I have a stew cooking at home... If you wanted to hold off on that till later, you can have something yummy." He gave a cunning smile[ Persuasion- 12], noticing[ Perception- 16] the slight hunger noises coming from her tummy. She narrowed her eyes, not fully convinced. But his structure and his lack oof reaction too her attack, made her think he was much more powerful then given credit for. She could wait until his attention was down again... "I think that sounds nice..." She jumps down from his shoulders, allowing him to stand his full structure. "Sorry about the acid..." She mumbled, seeing the acid rips on his shirt. He shrugs. "All is well." He casted mending to repair it, leading back through the forest. "My name is Jarox." He mentioned finally. She stared for a moment, he was much more civil then some of the people she had faced in town. "Oryakil." She hummed in respect. "Nice to met you?" She questioned, noting her mission again. "It is very nice! Not many people care to learn my name." He gave a smile, his hair dangling in his face. She was able to notice[ Perception 18] his Minotaur like features, although not extreme. He must have been a mixed race. They made it back to the cabin, Oryakil taking in the field and his way of life. The cabin was shack like, but still seemed sturdy enough. "What brings you to this forest, Oryakil?" Jarox asked as he prepared a bowl for the girl. She sat at the table which was moderately to big for her. "Um..." She mumbled awkwardly. "I heard rumor about a monster in this forest... I wanted to help..." She had considered that this man, as gentle as he had been couldn't be what they were referring to. "Do you know were I can find this beast?" "I do, in fact." He turns with two bowls, giving one to Oryakil, who was quick too take a bite[ Charisma- 9]. She cringed a little, but gave smile. He had worked hard on the food, so she would push through. He sat down, the table being to small for him. "You found me." He smiled taking a bite. She stared. "But you are so kind." She'll state lowly. "Oh I don't know about that..." He blushed a little, looking away. "I certainly have never hurt any of the villagers..." Oryakil had a faint memory of the boy, but at this point couldn't remember[ History- 8] what he had said to her. "Then why are you all the way out here alone?" She will ask, taking a bite. "I like to live in solitude...[ Deception- 5]" His voice wasn't convincing for his statement. The emotion in his face, made her rethink her plan. He wasn't hurting anyone out here, the town was just being paranoid. She will jump from the chair. "I think I will let you get on with your evening..." Her voice gentle as she flipped her orange hair behind her. "I'm sorry for attacking you, and thanks for the stew." She smiles. "You're not going anywhere..." His voice was low. Oryakil narrowed her eyes. Had she already been wrong about him?[ Insight-9] She couldn't tell. "I won't let you leave, just yet." He turns to face her more, before pointing towards the window. "It's now dark out and the woods are very dangerous too travel in at night. We have a wolf pack that lives near by, as well as a clan of Kobalts... Let's not forget about the fairies... They aren't very nice." "And they are worried about you?" Oryakil Mumbles with annoyed intent. Jarox chuckles, silently agreeing to her noticed snark[ Perception-16]. "They tend to go hunting at night. I have an extra room you can stay in until morning." He gestures to the door. "You are very kind..." She mumbles. " I would love a good night sleep in a warm bed." She gave a gentle smile. This statement made him perk up much more, he'd never had guest over before. He jumped up and went to the room. He opened the window to help air out some of the dust as he shook out the extra blankets he had. She watched as he excitedly made up a bed for her, his horns thumping into the walls and other crates that stacked in the corner. "Tada!" He gestured to the small bed. She smiled shaking her head. "It's perfect. Thank you." He shook his head. "After breakfast tomorrow, you can head back on your travels." He smiled before walking to his bed. She watched for a moment[ Perception 23]. Seeing him crunch up onto the small bed that would have been a good size for someone like her instead. She stepped out, taking in the room. "You know... if you move the bed to that wall, you wouldn't have to be crunched up..." She pointed to the same wall on the corner. He looked over watching to her gesture. "Huh... I haven't thought of that..." He mumbled shifting his bed effortlessly[ Strength- 20]. He laid down, able to stretch out for the first time in years. "Wow! Thank you!" He groaned as he stretched his full seven foot, twelve inches, using the leveled furniture at the end for his feet. She smiled moving to the room. She left the door open a crack before laying down.
