Im easy to read
My emotions splayed on my face like paint splattered across a canvas

All too often I would fall
Fast and deep
Into the warmth of a smile
Of a compliment
Or a well timed glance

All too often I would love
The stranger with the green eyes
The children playing in the park
The birds flying above the treetops

A day, a month, a minute
That's all it can take sometimes
For me to care
About even the most trivial of things

I am so easy to read
But so hard to understand
My emotions are splayed across my face like paint splattered across a canvas
But my heart
Oh my dear broken heart
It remains an ever changing maze
Guarding against the flimsy desires of mankind
Shielding me from the pain I once knew
Keeping me from a pain I could know
I fear It- but I thank you.
Please. Keep changing. Please, keep me safe from them.
