Chat Noir's POV:
After I left Emma, I realised why I had gone to the bakery in the first place. M'lady has sent me there with a coin. I don't know what type of coin, it had a strange indent on it and i didn't know what I was supposed to buy. Anyway, I retraced my steps and headed back to the bakery where I met Emma.
"Sorry for returning but m'lady sent me to get something." I said embarrassed. Emma responded with a chuckle and I didn't know why, I hadn't intended to say something funny but it was nice to hear her laugh.
I looked at her confused before she spoke. "Sorry, I don't know why I laughed.." I shot her a look of understanding and she continued to talk, "what are you and ladybug here for, some midnight snacks?" She winked and elbowed me and I blushed like crazy. I knew what she was implying but it wasn't exactly what I was expecting to come out of her mouth. She tensed up and asked questioningly "w..wait, you're not dating?"
"No!" I was a little to quick to respond but it's true. I would never lie, especially if it was about me and ladybug.
"Oh... I.. er.. I thought.. I'm sorry." She looked down.
I put my hands on her shoulders and crouched down under her so she could see my face. "It's okay," I needed to chance the subject. "What do you think I could buy with this coin?" I showed her the weirdly engraved coin to her and her eyes widened. "Do you know what kind of coin it is!"
She nodded but didn't look to happy. "That looks like my coin." She reached into her back pocket and pulled out a coin I'd never seen before. She held hers up next to the red and black spotted one I had. They were identical. "Do..do you think, you were meant to get me?" She said surprised.
"Well I'd not know what else it could mean." I held out my hand as I got my baton ready. She took my hand and I lifted us both off the ground and over the streets of Paris towards the villain known as 'Volpina'. As we ran across the rooftops of Paris with Emma in my arms she let out a cheer.
"Yeah!" She screamed as we went over a large gap in two houses. I did think it was strange, how the lucky charm knew Emma would be at the bakery and why would it pick a civilian girl that I've never seen before. Plus the fact that the coin had an engraved me on it, I could see it more clearly on Emma's coin but it was definitely me. I pushed that aside and landed on the ground close to where m'lady was.
Emma's POV:
After chat left I was just about to head into the bakery when he returned. He landed in front of me and said "Sorry for returning but m'lady sent me to get something.". I thought it was cute how he used little pet names, I let out a chuckle but stopped myself when I saw chat's look of confusion.
"Sorry, I don't know why I laughed.." I said hoping he would move past the situation. He didn't seem to be bothered so I continued to talk. I wanted to let him know I knew about him and ladybug. My parents said they started dating around 16. "what are you and ladybug here for, some midnight snacks?" I winked at him and Nudged him with my elbow. I was implying some pretty dirty things but I knew chat, he'd be fine with it. Or that's what I thought, until he began to blush like crazy. I froze as I realised that they might not have been dating. On the contrary, I wanted to be sure "w..wait, you're not dating?" I asked questioningly.
"No!" Chat said in response.
I felt so bad that I had implied those things without them even dating. I pulled another marinette and began to stutter like crazy! "Oh... I.. er.. I thought.. I'm sorry." I looked down, ashamed and embarrassed.
When I looked down at the floor I saw chat crouched down beneath me, shelter by my hair with his hands on my shoulders. "It's okay," he said tome in a really comforting way. I guess it didn't appear to me as strange because this is normal for me. Well my dad isn't supposed to be 16 but it's his normal behaviour. His sweet and compassionate side was making me feel like I was at home. Chat tried to rapidly change the subject."What do you think I could buy with this coin?"
He held up the coin in his fingertips and I recognised it immediately. It was a coin like the ones we used in modern... future.... my time currency. After my mum and dad defeated hawk moth paris decided to show its appreciation by temporarily changing the intent on the coins. Being their daughter I could get one of these rarities almost as soon as they came out. I guess I must have looked shocked as chat asked "Do you know what kind of coin it is!"
I nodded and reached into my back pocket. I always kept one on me, it was my own lucky charm. "That looks like my coin." I held mine next to the one from ladybug's lucky charm and they were identical! I exchanged glances with chat noir before I said in astonishment "Do..do you think, you were meant to get me?"
Chat wasn't sure at first but soon realised that had to be the only explanation. "Well I'd not know what else it could mean." He said to me and he held out his hand. I gladly took it and we shot into the air. Chat ran with me along the rooftops we me in his arms, just like we used to do when I was younger. I told him 'I'm too big to do this now' but alas, I did miss it I gave a cheer as we headed to the villain they called 'volpina'.
