Marinette's POV:
I didn't trust Emma one bit! There is NO WAY that Gabriel just let her stay at Adrien's house and there is NO WAY master fu gave her that miraculous. Come to think of it I don't even think that I saw a wolf miraculous in the miracle box. "She's lying and I'll expose her for it!" I muttered to myself.
Unknown to me, my best friend Alya was listening in. "Girl, You gotta stop accusing people of lying just because they're close to Adrien. If you don't stop acting jealous one day you'll think I'm hitting on him!" Alya's lectures weren't helping. If she knew that I was ladybug she'd believe me in a second when I tell her that something is fishy. My mind wondered how Emma even got ahold of that miraculous in the first place. Could she be an ally for hawkmoth!? If that's true then why hasn't he used it before, and why was MY lucky charm talking to HER! It's never done anything like that before and while I didn't understand the full extent of its power I knew it definitely wouldn't support someone even posing as hawkmoth's ally. "I do feel like I've seen her before though. Do you recognise her Mari?"
"Yes!" Alya looked at me, awaiting answers. Wait I can't say that! Then I'll have to tell her I'm ladybug and that Emma is timber! "No, I know don't her and I've hever, never seen her before in my life. Where would I have seen her before, it's not like I have a secret and know her from someone else or anything!" Alya shot me a concerned look. "Heh," I breathed.
"You're too funny girl," she giggled and I joined for the few moments it lasted. Once we finished, Alya spoke again. "Look, even if she is staying at Adrien house, which is a little suspect, His father must trust her. And Being able to gain Mr. Agreste's trust WITHOUT getting akumatized seems pretty dope."
Maybe Alya was right, maybe I am being jealous of Emma. I mean, if Adrien's father let her and her siblings stay in his house then they must be either be extremely impressionable or dangerously persuasive. "Maybe you're right, but something about her just...feels off. You get where I'm coming from right?"
I looked at my bestie for some reassurance on the situation. If I wasn't the only one who didn't trust or at least had doubts about Emma then that meant I wasn't crazy, right? To my dismay, Alya shut me down again. "I honestly have no clue what you're going on about girl, Emma's legit. Her story checks out, well going off of what I've heard. But," she sighed. "If you really want me to investigate, you know I'll do it for you."
