33. A Queen's Tale

27 6 5

It starts with a book
She reads sacrificing her sleep
A fairy tale
Where the shoe fits in perfectly
A king to save his queen...

She builds a castle
Wears a gown and
Patiently waits for her king,
Dreaming of their fairy tale to come
Oblivious to the fact that fairy tales are only beautiful lies...

She's screaming now,
All grown-up and realized
Her kingdom is in flames
And there's no king, who
Will save her...

Salt on her tongue
With blood shot eyes
She watches her castle turn to ashes
No words come out
There's a battle inside...

She will make it out of this mess
But the scars will never fade
Her heart made of glass
Is now turning to stone
And the walls are too high for you to see...

A tale where
The queen walks alone
And there's no king to hold
Her, when she falls
Is still a story worth listening?
