The bright sun hit me and made my whole room golden. I peeked over to see Henry gently snoring. I could get used to this...
"Staring isn't nice," he groaned.
I smiled and closed my eyes again, "I need to pee."
He lifted his arm and I slipped out of bed and into the bathroom. Surprisingly my hair wasn't as messy as I thought it would be, and I quickly brushed my teeth.
When I came back into my room, Henry was gone. I didn't even hear him get up. My door was open so I walked downstairs to the kitchen.
I heard chopping sounds, is my mom back home? I bolted down the stairs only to see a half naked Henry cutting strawberries. Is this a dream? His back muscles moved perfectly and he looked back at me.
"Wanna a bite?" he smirked.
"Y-yes, wait no... of the strawberries yes, but uh-y," I was completely flustered.
He laughed throwing his head back, "Got ya flustered huh?"
I pushed his face away with my hand as I stepping in front of him. I picked up the cutting knife and started to chop the rest of the berries. His warm and strong cologne was taking over making me uneasy. I wasn't sure what his next step was, but I knew it was going to make me blush.
"You don't have any flour sunshine," he whispered onto my neck.
I yelped and sliced my finger.
"Fuck!" I held onto my pointer finger and looked down with my brows furrowed.
"Here," Henry lifted me onto the empty part of the counter. He grabbed my hand and examined the cut, I got a paper towel and pressed against it.
"Bandaids are in the closet over there," I nodded towards it.
He came back with a dinosaur bandaid, "All better," he smirked still holding onto my hand.
"Thanks Dr.Henry," I teased.
He lifted his hand to his lips and kissed it. I slyly pulled my hand to my chest. We stared at each other forever until I heard the door swing open.
"We're home!" my mom sang.
"Oh my god!" I exclaimed, jumping down from the counter. I ran up to my tan parents and hugged them tightly.
I pulled away from them with a smile on my face, "You're home early."
"Surprise taco!" my dad said.
I heard a muffled chuckle and I spun around and looked at Henry. I told him my old horrid fear of tacos and I guess it's funny that my dad calls me taco.
"Is that Henry Watson?" my mom asked, dropping her purse on the floor.
We all glided into the kitchen, I sat on one of the stools and snacked on some strawberries.
"Yes ma'am, Mrs.Grey?" he asked, politely offering his hand for a handshake.
My mom weirdly giggled, "Yes."
"Taco, why is he here?" my dad protectively asked.
"He came over for breakfast," I quickly responded, looking at Henry making sure that we somewhat had the same story.
Dad nodded his head, "How's your dad son?"
Henry tensed, "Yeah yeah, he's good. Hangin' in there."
"The business?"
Obviously Henry didn't feel comfortable about his father, but my dad wasn't a very clever man to realize it, so he kept on pushing.
"It's fine."
"Plan on taking over the business son?" he asked grabbing a mug.
"No, I mean yeah. Eventually," Henry said looking down at the counter.
"What-"
"Oh gooooood, I'm starving. Mom wanna make your infamous pancakes? Oh and dad! In the backyard, I could have sworn there was a groundhog or some kind of animal digging up our nice, green grass. You should check that out? Aren't you a little cold? Well, I'm gonna go to the park to warm up. Henry you coming?" I asked getting out of the awkward situation.
"Yes! Nice meeting you guys," Henry called out while being dragged out of the house by me.
I laughed hard, grabbing my stomach. Henry starting laughing with me.
"Thank you," Henry seriously said.
"Uh, don't mention it," I scratched the back of my neck.
"Don't be nervous," he smirked, pulling my hand down from behind me.
I gulped loudly. I needed to change the subject, "Do you wanna go to the park?"
Henry gave me a questioning look, "Yuh sure."
I nodded my head and walked to the park. I was still in my pajamas but it's not like I was expecting to see anybody. The walk was short and silent. A couple kids were running around but luckily the swings were open. Memories flooded my mind, the only reason why I would come to the park were for the swings.
Even when I was a young, annoying thirteen year old. I would run away and go for midnight swings.
The breeze hit my hair. I closed my eyes and I went back and forth.
"There's a guy looking at you," Henry growled.
I popped my eyes open and stopped swinging.
"Where?" I asked looking everywhere.
"By the basketball court," Henry glared.
Sure enough, Parker Night was standing there. With the biggest smirk on his face...
