I have the weirdest sleeping schedule ever I can't even.

The week passed by quickly, and indeed, the guidelines for the plan had been tailored to be more stringent. I’d been avoiding Cameron the whole week, as every time I attempted to accost him, I knew my anger would take over and cause me to act irrationally.
Finally, the much-awaited Friday arrived, and I knew it was high-time to confront Cameron. With a gulp, I shut my eyes, attempting to slow my beating heart (and failing) as I spotted him in the cramped hallway.
I squeezed through, uttering a string of ‘sorrys’. He was listening disinterestedly as a ditzy dirty-blonde junior tried to chat him up. I rolled my as I heard another bout of her high-pitched giggles echo through the hallway.
“’Scuze me.” I hip-bumped the junior out of the way and faced Cameron. My throat instantly dries up as my gaze meets his expectant one. From my right I hear the junior bitching to her friends about me ‘stealing her man’. Firstly, he wasn’t her man, and secondly, I wasn’t trying to steal him from anyone.
“Cameron.” I said when I was able to find my voice.
“Kat…”
“Listen Cameron, we need to talk.”
“Clearly.”
“Why did you spill.”
I saw in his eyes the spark of guilt in his eyes, but as quickly as it was there, it was gone.
“Spill what?”
“Stop fucking playing dumb with me, Phillips. Why. Did. You. Spill.” I raised my voice slightly, making a few curious glances be cast our way.
“I… you guys ignored me. What was I supposed to do?”
“Everything but tell Colette. She’s the enemy.”
“What enemy, Kat? She’s changed.”
“No, she’s stalking me, trying to ruin me.”
“As if I should trust you. I was never on board with this whole ‘change’ thing anyway. I can’t believe you’d lie to make Colette look bad.”
“I’m not lying!” I screech exasperatedly.
By this time a small crowd had gathered, to see where the squabble would go or the odd girl drooling over Cameron. My eyes slid over to Colette who was in the crowd. She smirked at me and shook her head. The thing I least expected her to do was burst into tears right then and there. Cameron shot me an angry glare.
“Katrina, can’t you see she’s changed? For goodness sake, why did I even let you carry out this stupid plan?”
“You’re not my father, Cameron!”
“But you’re my best friend.” He turned away, walking to console Colette.
I laughed coldly. “So you’re going to walk out like he did, huh. Figured. The hot Australian boy would never want to be friends with me--.”
“Kat, I--”
“Please, just go to her. I’m done with people leaving me.” I tried to swallow the growing lump in my throat as the bell dismissing people from the commons to their first period rang. He looked at me for another second, to which I turned away. The crowd dispersed, and I hid my despair at Cameron rubbing Colette’s back comfortingly.
