Rory

I didn't know werewolves were early birds. They strike me as the type who would want to sleep in, but nope. Seven o'clock in the morning the house was full of life. Talking and moving around could be heard outside our door. I groaned.

I turned around to see Nova wasn't in bed with me anymore. I sat up, and called out.

No answer.

I frowned as I got out of bed. There was a knock on the door and I heard a nervous voice call through.

"Ms Aurora - I mean Rory - I mean Ms Rory."

I opened the door to see a teenage boy standing on the other side. He looked down not meeting my eyes. I smiled nicely, "Rory is fine, how may I help you?"

"You're needed at the school. You're l-late."

My eyes widened. "I'm sorry. Tell them to give me a few minutes and I'll be there shortly."

He nodded before running off. I quickly got ready and thirty minutes later I was at the school. There was still no sign of Nova. I figured she'd gotten up early to do her job but I still want to see her.

As I entered the school, children were running around everywhere. They were all so adorable, I couldn't help but get excited. I made my way through looking for a teacher. I entered a classroom and a tall woman was leaving over a desk filling out papers.

Her glasses sat at the bridge of her nose looking to be about to fall off. I cleared my throat and she shot up quickly. I waved nervously.

"Hi, sorry I'm late."

She waved off the apology before coming over and sticking her hand out to me. "I'm Ms Eden. But just Eden is fine."

"I'm Rory."

"Oh I know who you are. The all powerful Aurora who is suppose to bring back balance."

I rose an eyebrow, "You sound like you don't believe."

She shrugged, "I'm more a practical person. To think one woman is going to stop a century old feud between two species is ridiculous. No offense."

I shook my head, "None taken. So, what am I suppose to be doing?"

She let out a sharp whistle and all the children came running into the class. They sat at their desk still laughing and giggling and full of energy. It was at least thirty of them.

"You teach them all by yourself?"

"Sometimes I get help but yep mostly."

I scanned the students and found the boy who asked me to sing last night. He waved at me and I smiled back.

"Okay class, today we have a helper. This is Ms Rory and you shall treat her as if she is your teacher also. If she tells you to do something you do it. Am I clear?"

"Yes ma'am," they all said in unison. It was kind of impressed. Most of them didn't look older then seven but they were pretty much very well behaved.

Rose looked at her watch.

"I run a tight ship. In about five minutes their going to eat breakfast. Thirty minutes after that I teach my lesson. It's usually only about an hour because of the short attention spans. Then they all take at the longest two hour naps. Once they wake up I teach again. They eat lunch, they play inside or outside and then their parents come."

"Everybody is usually gone at about two."

I nodded taking in all the information. It seemed simple enough. But with thirty kids who knows what could happen.
