I froze.  I know that voice.  It can't be. He's not here.  He's in New York. With Natalie.

"You're not real.  You're not here."

He put his hands on my shoulders.  That familiar touch. The familiar warmth spread through my body.

"I'm here.  I'm real. Please look at me."

"No.  You're in New York.  With Natalie."

"No I'm not.  I've waited so long to be with you again.  I knew you'd come here. I knew it."

I slowly turned and looked at him.  He was the same. His hair was a bit shorter, but still the same.

"Layna, I missed you so much."

He lightly touched my cheek and I felt the tears pour down my face.

"I saw the picture of you and Natalie.  Mom showed me the picture."

"What picture?  I was never with Natalie."

"You and her after a football game.  Her kissing you. She told me you went to New York to be with her."

"No.  I'm here.  I go to school here.  I got a full ride. I've been looking for you ever since I arrived.  I never kissed Natalie. I never saw her again after that dinner party Mom had last year."

"Then where did that picture come from?"

"I swear to you.  I don't know. I've missed you so much.  I made a promise to you. I'm here. I love you baby.  Only you. Believe me."

He moved closer and I looked into his eyes.  I wanted so badly to believe him.

"You swear?  You're not with Natalie?"

"No way.  I promise you. It's only you."

"Alex…"

I threw my arms around his neck and pulled him into me.  He kissed me with so much passion. So much love. I felt like I was finally quenched after a very long drought.  He pushed me against the bookshelf and lifted me up. I wrapped my legs around his body.

"Oh baby.  Your kisses are so sweet.  I missed you so much."

"I'm so sorry.  Mom told me you moved on.  I thought…"

"It doesn't matter.  We're here now. Where we belong.  It's only you. Only us. Me and you forever."

I hugged him so tightly and sobbed into his shoulder.  He rocked me and stroked my back.

"Shhh ...it's okay now.  I love you."

"I love you too.  So much."

After a few more minutes, I pulled away.

"Shit...I'm kinda working right now."

"Damn...really?"

"Yeah.  I got a job working here."

"Okay.  What time do you get done?"

"10pm."

"I'll come back then.  Do you want to come to my dorm room?  I'm pretty sure my roommate won't mind."

"We can go to my room.  I don't have a roommate."

"Lucky...how'd you get your own room?"

"Just luck I guess."

"Alright.  I'll be back."

"Bring pizza."

"You got it."
