" Sophie Foster is hereby exiled out of the lost cities!" Counselor Emery's rich voice played out in her head a million times over along with some other questions and comments.
The most prominent was: I didn't do anything!
And that was true. Sophie hadn't. One minute she was taking a nap under the shade of Calla's panakes tree and the next she was facing all twelve counselors in the tribunal hall.
All of her friends had pleaded that she was innocent, but the evidence had pointed to her.
"If you exile her, you have to do it to me too!" Keefe stood up and said.
"What are you doing Keefe?" Sophie hissed.
She wouldn't have any of her friends getting tangled up in her mess.
"Let me do this, Foster. For you." Keefe smiled sadly.
"Very well. Take them away! I think the tribunal is done here." Councilor Emery called.
Sophie looked back to get one last glimpse of her friends and family. Biana, Dex, and Edaline were about ready to cry, Tam and Linh had a determined face, like they were planning somthing, and Grady and Fitz looked about ready to murder someone.
Sophie gave them a smile that hopefully said 'I will be fine', but knowing her they probably saw something else.
