The sun hadn't reached it peak, when subjects of Qing Qiu and visitors from across the realms arrived at the amphitheater early that summer morning to attend the Bai Fengjiu's coronation ceremony. The theater was nearly packed to capacity and the excitement of the crowd was palpable. Many chatted and reminisced with old friends they'd not seen in a long time, while others speculated about the political ambitions of the future Queen of Qing Qiu.

Others whispered about the young queen's beauty and speculations about why she rejected so many potential suitors, could be heard.
It was said that in all the realms, the women of Qing Qiu were known for their legendary beauty, fierceness and steadfast devotion to their beloveds. However, the latest rumor was that Bai Fengjiu recently broke her aunt Bai Qian's record for the highest number of rejected suitors. The elders speculated it was because the Bai family had exceedingly high standards. Or that the young lady was stubborn, only a few knew about the burning torch and unrequited love Fengjiu still had for Dong Hua Dijun. Despite the rumors, scores of eligible gentlemen from across the realms filled the stands and each remained optimistic about their chances to win Fengjiu's affections. However, all agreed that the coronation provided the perfect occasion to enjoy the warm weather, great conversations, and a sumptuous feast ..and a chance to admire the beauty of the young queen.

Meanwhile, Fengjiu sat in the palanquin with her father, uncle and Zhe Han. The three men reminisced about Bai Qian's ascension to the throne and goddess. Fengjiu tried to listen as she readjusted the vermillion cloak draped over her shoulders, quietly surveilling the crowded arena. Continuing to look on, she reflected on her journey and all that led to this moment. Time passed quickly, under the tutelage of her aunt Bai Qian, fourth uncle and Zhe Yan.

It seemed like just yesterday, she'd taken an arrow to protect Lord Dong Hua during their love trial in the Mortal Realm. It seemed like hours ago, when she learned he'd lost 90 percent of his magic due to their early return from the trial, and he needed to reseal Qing Cang inside the Donghuang Bell. She followed him, and did all she could to help and protect him, and was struck by lightning in the process. After the battle at Ruoshui River, her aunt Bai Qian stepped away for a much-needed respite, and grieved the loss of her beloved Ye Hua, who sacrificed his spirit to destroy the Bell.

For this reason, she gradually took on more responsibilities over the last three years to ease her aunt Bai Qian's burden, simultaneously transitioning into the role as Queen of Qing Qiu. And just like that, her carefree days of visiting Tai Chen Palace were over. Her opportunity to offer a rebuttal to Dong Hua's admission about his feelings for her at Heaven's Gate three years ago, never came. Fengjiu was busier than ever. Her aunt recently entrusted the rest of her duties to Fengjiu, after Ye Hua's recent return. "No pressure", she thought to herself. She was no longer that innocent girl Dong Hua Dijun rescued in the forest, nor was she the girl who foolishly cut off her tail for him, all those years ago. In retrospect, her fated encounters with Lord Dong Hua, served as pivotal moments that facilitated her transformation. She had come into her own. She was not a person to be trifled with, as she spent the last three years, solving all sorts of problems and standing up for the interests of her subjects. Fengjiu became a leader in her own right.

She understood that her imminent coronation came with a heavy responsibility. On one hand, she now understood why Dong Hua omitted his name from the Rock of Three Incarnations. Despite this, Dong Hua would always have a place in her heart, neither time, distance or fate could diminish. On the other hand, she now knew neither one of them were made of stone. On the other hand, having someone by her side to share her burdens, was such a small reward for having such responsibility. Even her aunt Bai Qian had been dealt a winning hand, with the bonus of being Heaven's future queen. Why should she get the short end of the stick? In any case, she vowed never to settle for less than she deserved.

She looked a bit pensive, as she remembered Si Ming's visit last year. He briefed her about his latest doings, and also told her Dijun was busy assisting Heaven Lord with all sorts of political matters, and seldom stayed in Tai Chen Palace. Although she didn't ask, she secretly wondered if Dong Hua would be present for today's ceremony. She wondered how their encounter would be, since they hadn't spoken in so long. Would she have a chance to -"JIU, it's time" said Bai Yi as he hopped off the palanquin. He extended his hand to help her step down from the palanquin. He quickly nodded his approval as she redirected her attention, and motioned that she was ready. Zhe Yan and Bai Zhen also stepped down from the palanquin. They saw Bai Zhi, and followed him, to the section reserved for family members, at the front of the stage.

Migu was master of ceremony and announced Bai Yi and Fengjiu's arrival. The noise level in the arena fell to a hush, as father and daughter slowly walked down the aisle, hand in hand. "Show the people why we are proud of you", Bai Yi said as he released Fengjiu's hand. She gave a small nod, while retaining her facial expression reserved for serious occasions, and slowly ascended up the stairs.
