Silence fell upon the forest. It seemed as though the event that just transpired never happened at all. As if it was just a daydream. There wasn't a single animal stirring in the woods, no noise, not even a breeze. The air was still. Rey was bewildered. For over a year, there hadn't been a single moment of connection between her or the Supreme Leader from the Force. The Force bond seemed to sever after Ren allowed for the Resistance to escape and avoid death back on Crait. Even with the bond being disconnected, neither could forget the events that occurred. Rey wouldn't forget those events, she needed a reason to give up on him. The only problem was that no matter how much she wished to give up on him, the General encouraged her to have faith in him.

With the saber in hand, she let out an exasperated huff from the sudden shock. Thoughts raced through her head, when she heard the rustling in the woods it was as if Ren was actually on the planet with her. Kylo could actually see and touch the vegetation. However disturbed and shaken, Rey cast the thoughts away and forced herself to focus on the training. She momentarily deactivated the lightsaber and walked over to a fallen log where she left a small knapsack. Retrieving the training remote from the bag, she switched it on and tossed it up, letting it hover and propel itself around her.

Reigniting her saber, she stood in a defensive stance, ready to deflect blaster bolts at any moment. The ball darted from its original spot over towards Rey's left and she turned to face it while maintaining sure footing. The remote pivoted and spun on its axis for a moment then finally fired at the girl. Having spent too long shifting, the blast caught her off guard and she'd just barely deflected it. She quickly gathered her composure and readied herself again. The remote rotated a few times and rapidly shot three bolts at her. With heightened focus, Rey was able to deflect all three shots in different directions. This exercise went on for another 20 minutes. When she grew tired of blocking blaster fire, she went on to practice certain saber swings and offensive approaches.

With one foot in front of the other, Rey held a reverse grip with both hands on the re-forged saber and brought it up over her head sideways as if to block an overhead strike. The pommel of the lightsaber was facing to her left so she brought it down with a swiftness, turning the blade to follow though with it. In a blink of an eye she was able to switch her reverse grip to standard, and she slashed the saber diagonally to her right, spinning it to come back to a resting stance back at her left side. Pausing in that position for a moment, she thought back to when Kylo showed up out of nowhere. She had thrown the lightsaber at him and let it circle back around like a boomerang.

Rey breathed a sigh, shifted her footing and reared back. Turning her torso with her arm, she flung the lightsaber forward. The saber made several fast rotations during its flight, cutting and slashing the trees and dense bushes in its path. Rey kept her arm stretched outward, summoning the saber back with the Force. It stopped flying forward and circled around, eventually the metal hilt slammed right into her palm. The Jedi grimaced at the forming blister from when she had previously thrown it. She went back over to the knapsack and found a red strip of cloth balled up inside. Wrapping it around her palm a few times, she used her teeth to tie the knot over the back of her hand. As means of checking the efficiency, she knocked her fist into her palm a few times. When all she felt was the fabric cushioning her knuckles, she got back into her practices.

Several times over she had thrown the lightsaber, each time it flew at high speeds, tearing down multiple trees and finding its way back to her hand. Rey felt full of energy. She looked around at her surroundings for anything to climb. To her right were two large trees that contained thick branches. It seemed as though the branches in those trees connected to the others in that general direction. To climb one would mean instant crossover to the others.

Rey stood under a high branch on one of the large trees pondering how she'd be able to reach it. She squatted down slightly and jumped up with all the strength she could muster, her arms stretched out to meet the limbs. Her hands reached up a good ten feet away from the branch, making her crash back down. The girl repeated the futile act several times, each time her hands would get further away from the goal. Her instincts, however, told her she would have to utilize the Force again. Backing up a few feet, she ran forward and willed the Force around her to boost her upward as she jumped. Unfortunately she still failed to reach the branch, even with the Force.

Rey stayed kneeling on the ground catching her breath. She closed her eyes with her brows furrowed, slowly taking in huffs of oxygen. Back by her bag, her com link started to blink and beep, drawing her attention away from the training and frustration. Picking it up, Finn's voice came through from the other end.

"Rey, the sun will be going down shortly, you should come back and fuel up before the food's gone." He said with a laugh. Rey smiled to herself and replied back.

"Thanks for the reminder. I'm on my way." She packed everything back into the knapsack and took off at a run, making her way back to the bunker.
