The Doctor traveled once more before returning again to his cloud. He took Nyxie to a planet. He'd promised her a planet.
He took her to a beautiful planet, with flowers blooming eternally and the grass as soft as a blanket. The sky was blue, the bluest blue you'd ever see, with an occasional cloud drifting across the sky. The trees were beautiful shades of green and yellow, with pink and white flowers blooming. This planet was uninhabited, and not many knew of it. Nyxie would have loved it.
He laid her down in the soft grass, under a tree. He gently placed some blue flowers in her hands, and planted seeds in the soil all around her. Someday, these seeds would grow into trees, and the trees would protect her.
The Doctor stepped back and admired his handiwork. She looked so peaceful, under the tree, her hair splayed everywhere and her lips slightly parted. She could be sleeping.
But he knew she was not. And that made his hearts simply break apart.
He watched her a little while longer. A sudden stroke of inspiration allowed him to carve her name in spiky letters on the tree above her.
Nyxie Wing
The Mystery of Time
A Grave with No Name.
And so it was, at the end of the day on the flowering planet, he headed back to the TARDIS with two heavy hearts under a softly glowing half-moon, like it did every night. He did not know where he was headed, nor did he know if he'd ever return to her grave. He knew it would hurt, and he knew he'd still remember. He'd always remember that day, on his cloud in the sky, when Nyxie Wing burst into his TARDIS and pleaded for his help.
From Gallifrey to the Planet of Half-Moons, Nyxie Wing's path was too short, too bittersweet, but overflowing with memories and a future never lived.
