Nyxie opened her eyes to a flash of bright light and a wheezy sound coming from... all around her.
She sat up. "Doctor?"
"Yes?" He came over and smiled down at her.
"Where am I?"
"The TARDIS." he answered. "Are you all right?"
She flexed her injured arm, not surprised to find it stiff and sore but healed. "Fine."
"What do you want to do today?" he asked.
She frowned. "We can do anything?"
"Pretty much. All of time and space... where do you want to start?" A twinge of sadness flashed across his face briefly as he said that.
"I don't know." Nyxie thought for a moment. "Um... how about... Akhaten."
"How do you know about Akhaten?" The Doctor asked suspiciously.
"Never mind." She weakly covered up her mistake. "I meant... um... ancient Greece."
"How does Akhaten sound like Greece?" The Doctor apparently knew she had a secret now.
"Oh... you'd be surprised..." she muttered lamely, getting up and wandering around the TARDIS.
She wasn't expecting him to suddenly come up behind her and throw his arms around hers so she couldn't move.
"Ow!" she complained. "What do you want?"
"You're hiding something from me." The Doctor hissed in her ear.
"Yes, I am. I mean, does it seem that way?" Nyxie stammered.
"Yes." he breathed. "Now tell me what. I don't like not knowing."
"So you brought me to travel with you just so you could interrogate me about myself?" protested Nyxie, struggling against his iron grip. "Not fair!"
"Rule one of travelling with me: I'm not fair." The Doctor snapped.
"Well then maybe I don't want to travel with you!" Nyxie cried.
The Doctor fell silent, and after a while, loosened his grip on Nyxie. But before he let her go, he twirled her around to face him, put his forehead on hers and whispered, "I will find out, Nyxie Wing, sooner or later."
Nyxie struggled free and watched him darkly from the other side of the TARDIS. Because of that, she had no doubt.
He would find out.
