End of times

Chapter 4: ''Safe'' Camp

As the camp seems to get a lot less safe every day, the group decides that if it keeps going on like this they're gonna have to think about leaving. Everyone is fine with it except for Jacob, he likes it very much here and would rather still be protected by the military than being outside alone. Nobody really knows what to say to that and they just look down in silence.

Liam realizes that he still has his journal, so he starts drawing all of the new mutants he can remember seeing. Elody and Erkand are trying to integrate with the group more so they're the ones who are talking constantly and sparking conversations. The military also started getting weirder and weirder and at this point, they just stopped talking to the people in the safe camp, so Samy had a theory that maybe the military has a plan to leave this place and leave us to die. Everybody looks at him and also start questioning his mental state but really everybody had to think about it for a moment.

As the night comes, the sounds from mutants seem to get out of control. Liam goes out of the house to ask a military man what is happening. He answers him by screaming: ''Get back in your house!''. Liam runs straight back to the house and tells Farhan and the rest of the group, now everybody is really worried. Farhan says they should get ready for the worst and start trying to gather some stuff.

The group decides to try and stay the night to not have to go out in the nighttime. everybody gets in their room and Jacob stays up to keep guard to make sure nothing is coming in the house.

During the night, sounds of screaming are loud in the house. Liam quickly jumps out of bed and goes to see what is happening, he is shocked by what he is seeing, a mutant got in the house and was eating what seemed to be Jacob. Liam goes and wakes up Farhan and they both get some knives. They rush the creature and stab it to death, it dies pretty quickly. What they feared was the worst literally just happened. They look at who's corps it was and Farhan breaks down because he sees that it's Jacobs'. Liam looks at it with wide eyes and cannot believe it. The group wakes up one by one and they see what just happened and they start either crying or looking at the ground in disbelief. Farhan decides to look outside and to his surprise, he sees a bunch of mutants everywhere and can see military men dead on the ground.

The group starts barricading the doors and regroup in the living room to talk about what will they do. The majority of the people say that they need to leave this place and everyone agrees but Owen says not without all of their weapons and food. They look through the barricaded windows and start looking for the place where the military hid all the resources and the guns. They see a building that could possibly have it and they devise a plan.

After 20 minutes of thinking, they find nothing. The only option that was proposed was just make a run for it but the group brushed it off immediately but after a while, they were really starting to consider it. Liam makes the final decision that only a few of them would go and just make trips back and forth until they have enough resources. The group looks at each other and ask who is gonna go, Farhan says that 4 people minimum should go so they won't have to do so many trips.

Erkand volunteers so he can prove to the group that he is worthy of trust. Liam volunteers as well and so does Farhan. The rest of the group is more hesitant because they saw what just happened to Jacob. Finally, Liam convinces Zack to go with them and the group starts hyping him up.

The four of them take knives and get ready to make a run for it. they remove the things blocking the door and they start running. Erkand gets immediately tackled by a mutant and gets eaten, the three other guys having seen that just decide to keep running because there is nothing they can do about it. They get to the front door of the place and start tearing threw the door, it doesn't seem to open so they try pushing on it, mutants are getting closer so they rush the opening. At the last second, they get the door open and close it behind them immediately. Like they assumed this is the place that everything was stored. They start grabbing as much shit as they can.

When they were all ready the three sprinted back to the house, Liam passes by Erkand who is now dead and almost trips on him. They get into the house and close the door. They see Elody mourning. Samy was reinsuring her and the three boys placed the things down. On the count of three they burst out the door again and this time it was Zack who was almost brought down. They do the same thing and sprint back to the house. Only 2/6 of the stuff is taken. Samy decides to go and help them. So they burst out the door again but this time the mutants were blocking the door. They fastly get surrounded by the mutants but Myriam quickly comes out of the house and shoots the mutants down with the gun they just brought. They realize how dumb they were because they could've taken guns after the first trip and so they do the same thing but this time armed.

More mutants come from the big camp doors and they start getting depressed. They finally have all their resources back and they quickly burst out the house doors for the last time and just start spraying. the group picks up a random guy who was hiding in a house and start going for the camp doors. Out of nowhere, a new wave of mutants comes and they start shooting even more than before. The random dude takes a gun and runs towards the door he quickly makes a path for himself with the machine gun but as the group expected when they screamed: ''No!'' he was quickly surrounded and eaten to death.

Liam knows that it is impossible to get through that without wasting all of their ammo, so he tells them to look for another opening. They search for about 15 minutes and can't find anything. Owen almost gets killed but was saved by Farhan. The group sucks it up and goes guns blazing on all of the mutants. It works better than most of the group expected. They quickly tear through the waves of mutants and make it out alive. Liam gets scratched by one of the mutants but makes it out just in time of a surrounding.

The group all run together as they search for a place to lay down. They started losing the mutants and they are very happy about it. Farhan asks how could the mutants all know that there was a safe camp situated right here it's like if someone had told them where to go.  Their theory gets realler and realler every time. Liam gets the group together and starts talking about what they should look for in a safe place. They say that the place needs to be quite tall so they could see them coming from afar and have almost no chances of getting killed. Samy proposes to go back to the bunker but the group shuts it down because there would be too many mutants in Montreal.

They keep walking towards the south and they spot a couple of mutants but they dispose of them real quick. Liam and Farhan start getting impatient and they want the group to walk faster but everyone is tired. They find a couple of gas stations and get more canned food for further survival.
