I see Lorenzo picking up both of the girls rocking them to sleep again, "shhh daddy's here, go back to sleep." I whisper yell for him to put them down but again he doesn't pay me attention. Speed walking right behind him he opens the door to a huge group of men, scary men and one familiar face.

Lorenzo's younger brother Elijah. He wasn't always at the house like everybody else. He was always outside the house until they lost their mother, after that he stayed inside helping Lorenzo recover from his mothers death.
Lorenzo nodded his head to signal the men to pack mine and now the girls bags too. They looked confused as to why Lorenzo had two little girls in his arms but they didn't question him, just walking in my house doing their jobs.
Elijah stays where he's at, moving over to make space for Lorenzo to walk past him while looking at me with a disheartened face. He blocks the door way with his body while I sit there with a confused and sad face. Before I could say anything he asks me, "Are they Lorenzo's kids?" We sit there in silence hearing people in the background shuffling our things around.
I look around avoiding any eye contact with him until Lorenzo comes back interrupting us, "Are they?" He asks with a hint of rudeness in his voice. "Yes they're your kids...." For a second there's pure silence, you could hear a pen drop.
"HOW COULD YOU NOT TELL ME YOU WERE CARRYING MY KIDS!?!" As he yelled at me I flinched and I think him and Elijah notices this because Lorenzo calms down and sighs while Elijah walks up to me and tells me to follow him to his car.
Before getting in the passenger seat of the car Lorenzo tells me, "We're going to talk about this in the morning." As we get in the car, I feel like something's wrong. "Where are my babies!?" I yell at Elijah and he just tells me that they're in the same car with Lorenzo and I tell him to let me out but he refuses, "LET ME OUT OF THIS DAMN CAR THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY BABIES!"
He gets kind of scared because I never yell at someone unless I was mad or frustrated. I guess some things never change. I run out of the unlocked car and find Lorenzo's car with a crying Amiya and a mad Aniya. Seeing this I also see Lorenzo getting annoyed looking ready to yell at them.
Before he gets the chance to yell I open his back seat door and hear, "Mommy this bad man is trying to take us!" She sits back while facing forward glaring at Lorenzo with her arms crossed. I sit in the back seat with them and pick up Amiya and put her in my lap rocking her side to side with my hand stroking her hair.
"What's wrong with her, is she hard headed?" I looked up, glaring at Lorenzo while rocking Amiya back to sleep. "No, Amiya was born deaf." He looks at me shocked. "And you didn't buy her any hearing aids?" He must be on another planet, "I can't afford hearing aids especially if my job isn't paying me enough."
He closes the backseat door and gets in the car before he zooms off he calls someone telling them that he'll be a late for dinner. As he drives out of the drive way the car ride is silent. Arriving at a tall building he gets out of the car not forgetting to lock it before walking in. I don't want to try to escape because I have two little girls and it's gonna make it hard for us to leave in one peace. Almost a few minutes later he opens the car door with some signing papers. He gave me the papers and told me that I had to sign it.
I looked at the paper confused and looked up, and I think he read my mind because he just answered my unasked question. "It's for Amiya, You have to check off what she has and you have to sign it." Looking at the bottom of the paper I see Lorenzo's signature so I write down my mine.
I'm excited and happy because Amiya will be able to hear for the first time. She'll be so happy. I think I'm about to cry. But I hold it in.
We arrive at I think his new house, I mean mansion it's hug it's way bigger than his old one and fancier. There is a ignoramus wall surrounding his mansion with a small forest as his backyard. I look around in awe but I tell myself that there is no way of the girls and I escaping then I start frowning. As he parks his car next to the others in front of his mansion, I try to figure a way out but the wall is going to be a big problem.
I get out the car with Amiya in one arm and Aniya on the other. Lorenzo stays in the car talking to someone on his phone. When he hangs up the phone he gets out the car and looks at Aniya then picks her up right out of my arm.
I continue looking around for an escape route while walking into the new mansion and my nose scrunched up because of the foul smell of beer and old cigars. I stop in my tracks and Lorenzo catches on and looks at me. "My girls and I are not living in a place that smells like old beer bottles and used cigarettes." He walks up to me, "They'll be fine it doesn't smell like this upstairs. Plus you guys probably won't be down here much." I look up at him and he snatches my hand. As we walk into a long hallway I could hear the sound of laughter and talking.
When we enter the room it has a long table fit for about fifty people and everyone one of the sits are fill with happy chattering people. When we get in the room it goes silent then I see a bunch of familiar faces except for one. It was a man about Lorenzo's age maybe older and he looks at me with a smirk.
We walk to two empty seats at the front of the table, with the girls in our laps, when we sit you could hear whispers from here or there then the whispering turns to talking and laughing again. Everyone says hi to me except the mystery man and then they start asking questions about Aniya and Amiya. "Are those your babies Lorenzo?", "When did you get pregnant Melanie?", "How old are they?", "What are they're names?"
Lorenzo ignores the questions like he ignores everything else while he eats his food and looks up at everyone making eye contact with me than the mystery man. ______________________________________
