Esther Snow does this often, leaving her home for a night. Her sister usually watches her leave, always; but there are nights where Elsa tries to stop Esther from going out. Esther is the problem child, her brother (only a year younger), is the responsible, perfect one. Elsa Snow is...she is something else.

"Please, Esther, Jeremiah tells me it's dangerous out there, people from the Districts are coming and-" Esther groans in annoyance. She puts on her sweater as she walks to her balcony. "Elsa, I don't give a damn about what Jeremiah or anyone else says. I'm going out and that's fucking final," Esther sneers in Elsa's face.

"Esther, our father will get angry if you leave," Esther's 14-year-old sister whispers. "Elsa, what's life without a little risk, without danger, I'm leaving," Esther tells her and she jumps off the balcony. "Are you crazy?" Elsa whisper yells and Esther chuckles, standing up. "Obviously," she says before running away from the mansion.

Despite everyone in the Capitol sleeping, the city never looked more alive at night. The lights danced and it was the most beautiful thing Esther had ever seen. She walks down the streets, closing her eyes as she felt the little air there was to offer. She bumps into someone, she opens her eyes, looking into a pair of green ones, the man's arms wrap around her waist. "Are you okay?" He asks her and she shoves him off of her.

"Am I okay? How dare you put your hands on me, don't you know who I am?" She asks him and he raises an eyebrow as he crosses his arms. "I don't care who you are, you were about to fall. I should have let you hit the floor," he tells her and she scoffs. She looks at him, his clothes looked old fashioned and dirty, his shoes looked brown, almost grey. He, however, looks like a model, like he belongs in the Capitol.

"Who are you?" She asks him, placing her hands on her hips. "Where are you from?" She adds and the stranger scoffs. "I'm James, from District 2," he says and she nods. "Sorry, James," she sneers out, not liking that she has to apologize.

He smiles at her, "See you around sweetheart," he flirts and she glares at him. "What are you doing in the capitol anyway, you're a long way from home," she tells him, looking around the streets. She hears him chuckle, looking back at him he looks down at her. "Something tells me you're far from home too." Esther shrugs, "So what if I am, you're going to tell the peacekeepers?" He shakes his head, "No, I'm not annoyed of you yet," he teases and she scoffs in disgust.

"Back to your question, my crew and I drop off the weapons from my District, takes 3 days to separate and organize," he tells her and she slightly smiles. "You can smile?" He asks her like an ass and her smile falls. "I can do a lot of things, for example, giving you a public execution," she threatens and he laughs. "Yeah, I doubt that sweetheart," he says and he winks at her before leaving. "What an asshole," she mutters as she turns around, the sun already rising.

Whenever she leaves the house, she climbs the tallest building to watch the sunrise, she missed it thanks to James.

Esther walks up the stairs, going into her family mansion, the peacekeepers aiming their weapons at her. "Chill out, will you? I'm Esther fucking Snow," she sneers and one of the peacekeepers steps back. "It's her, back off," he says and she scoffs. "Be more aware of the people you are assigned to protect, capiche?" She tells then before going inside.

She walks into the living room to see her brother playing the piano, she looks at his suited self with annoyance.

"Esther, dad knows you're gone," Jeremiah tells her without looking her way. His focus is on the piano, their mother's piano. Their mother loves that piano, only she and her favorite child can touch that thing. "Am I suppose to care 'Miah? Dear ol' dad lets me do whatever I want," she sneers and Jeremiah looks at his sister, the 16-year-old hating his sister.

"No, you obviously don't have the ability to care, I don't want to force you to do so. However, our father's reputation does not need to be trampled by your actions, bitch."

Esther scoffs, "Oh please Jeremiah, spare me of your expectations for our family, I do as I please, whenever I please," she tells him before walking tiredly to her room.

She faceplants on her bed, hating that those fucking green eyes begin to haunt her. He is nothing, nothing but a poor guy that separates and organizes weapons. Sure he was good looking, that was just about it, he's nothing special, never will be.
