"Esther," the maid calls from outside her room. Tiredly, she gets off her bed and she opens the door. "Peasant," she says with a large fake smile. "Get ready Esther, today's showcase is going to start very soon," her maid tells her and Esther stretches. "Please, call me master," she purrs tiredly before closing the door and jumping on her bed.

"Esther, this is a serious matter, everyone who matters is coming!"

"That's what she said."

"Esther!"

"Let me handle this," Esther hears from the other side and she sits up on her bed as her brother opens the door. "Esther, if you care at all, get ready, I will not let my reputation be ruined by your stupid actions," Jeremiah Snow tells his sister. Esther groans and she rolls off the bed. "Fine, drama queen," she mutters and he glares at her. "Your maids will have your dress and accessories ready. I suggest you get in the shower now, they have a lot to work on."

"Asshole," she whispers as he just left her room. She walks inside her bathroom and turns on the water.

"Why do we need to wear suits?" James Hadley asks the chief director of the Snow Mansion. "This showcase is going to be a professional and formal event," he says and James inwardly groans. "So we need to wear suits?" He asks and the chief gives him an annoyed look. "The suits are mandatory and when we walk inside we are not allowed to interact with the guests, we are just going behind the stage, okay?" The chief tells the group of men and his places his thumbs up.

"Let's go," he says and they walk inside. Classical music was playing and James almost died of how boring it sounded. As the group of men from District 2 walk behind the stage, James notices someone in the corner. A smile crept onto his lips, it's the girl from the night before.

"Don't even think about it, Jamie," his friend tells him and James groans in annoyance before walking away.

Esther leans against the wall as everyone in the party enjoys themselves, even the servants are having a fun time, cracking jokes and all. "Why are you frowning, little flower?" Esther hears from beside her. She rolls her eyes, glaring at everyone. "I hate people," she tells her father, who just laughs. "You hate everything," he says and she hums unamused. The lights dim and he softly pushes her into the crowd.

"The showcase is beginning, little flower, pay attention," he says and she scoffs before standing in between him and Jeremiah. He looks at her up and down with disgust, "Your face is still ugly," he whispers to her and she looks at him. "Oh wow, a talking trashcan, when was that invented?"

"How mature Esther," he tells her and their mother clears her throat. Both of them look at the stage with grim looks. "My name is Chief Jacobson, my district has come up with multiple guns that can take out multiple people," he says and Esther crosses her arms waiting for the show to carry on. "My right-hand man, James, come out please," he says and Esther's eyes widen as he walks out.

"You have to be kidding me," she whispers and Jeremiah gives her a look of confusion before looking back to the two men on the stage. "This is called 'Manta Ray'," James says and he shows everyone the gun. "With just one bullet, it can take down 3 people, James, the video," the chief says and James presses play, it projected how the gun works.

The man in the video took a gun and shot at 3 dummies, but it only took one bullet to hit one dummy to take out all three. The crowd claps in amazement and Esther rolls her eyes, leaving the scene.

She walks to the balcony in the living room and she sighs as she lit up a pipe. She sits on a chair, waiting for the showcase to end. She puffed out some air and she hears a knock on the wood. She turns her head and she made eye contact with showcase boy. She groans in annoyance as he sits next to her. "What do you want?" She asks him while bringing her knees to her chest.

"Just wanted to say hi," he says and she scoffs. "Bull, weren't you busy being someone's assistant?" She asks rudely and he leans back into the chair. "You think I'm his only assistant? Funny," he says and she chuckles. "Sucks to suck," she says and he takes the pipe out her hand, taking a puff. "Who do you think you are?" She whispers while sporting a glare. "The King of the world," he tells her and she scoffs.

"Must be a small world," she mutters and he hands her the pipe. "Princess, you have no idea," he says and she gives him a fake smile, it falls almost instantly. "I like you, we should be friends," he says and she gives him a look. "Friends for 3 days, deal," she says and she extends her hand. He shakes it firmly, she sighs, standing up and wiping her hand on her dress. "Well, see you later, friend," she tells him and she trips over his foot making her fall into his lap.

"Whoa there, we're friends, don't fall for me so fast," he jokes and she groans. "You're annoying," she tells him and he laughs. "You know, I'm new here, to the Capitol I mean, why don't you show me around tomorrow?" He asks her and she gets off his lap, looking at him. "Tomorrow, where we met," she says and a smile forms on James' face.

"See you tomorrow," she whispers and she leaves him alone. "Who was that?" Elsa asks her and Esther glares at her. "Tell anyone, I will kill you," she sneers in her face, backing Elsa into the wall. "I-I won't tell anyone," she says and Esther smirks. "Good," she whispers before leaving Elsa.

The youngest member of the Snow family looks at the balcony, wondering how much that man meant.
