It's been a lonely few weeks.

Even when my friends try to be around me, it's like I'm alone. I always find the same type of thoughts creeping into my mind.

I wonder what Collins is doing.

I seriously need to stop. I'm the one who ended things with him. I can't mope around. I need to focus on getting ready to go to the beach.

Living in LA has its advantages. Except, in the time I've been here, I'd never been to the beach. A few of my friends were planning on going to Malibu to go surfing and swimming. I only knew what Malibu was because of a Disney movie I had watched a few times.

While picking through a few of my swimsuits, my eyes land on a simple black and white polka dot bikini. It tied around the back, and the bottoms matched with ties on the sides. Just looking at it brought back memories.

I shouldn't have come to the hotel with Collins and Devan. But they really wanted me to, and it's impossible to say no to those bright blue puppy eyes. So here we were, all about to check into a joined hotel suite.

It had two rooms, and both rooms only had one bed. Which wasn't a problem considering Collins and I share a bed all the time.

"Let's hit the pool!" Devan yells in excitement, opening the door to his joined room. His voice trails as he tells us to get ready cause he wanted to have time to get back and order food.

Collins's arms wrap around my waist and he leans down to my ear. "Did you bring a swimsuit?"

I leaned into his touch. It seemed to melt me like I was butter in a skillet. "Of course I did. I'm always prepared for a swim."

He presses his lips to my cheek mumbling a good and disappearing into the bathroom to change into his trunks.

I could still feel my heart racing just from a simple touch. He always knew how to make me fall for him all over again.
-
"I definitely won, Devan. You just don't want to admit your defeat!" Collins yells with water dripping from his soaked hair.

I laugh as both of their faces turn red and they get into an argument about who won their breath-holding contest. I simply sat with my feet in the water watching them enjoy themselves.

"Fine, Sarah," Collins says turning to me. "Who held their breath longer?"

"Nuh-uh, no way am I deciding this for you guys." I cross my arms.

"Oh come on, you watched the whole thing!"

I take a deep breath and decide it would be funny to tease Collins. Even though he totally won and Devan came up a whole 30 seconds before him, I want to see how he reacts.

"Devan totally won Collins, sorry."

Devan starts laughing, and Collins simply shakes his head. "I know for a fact, he did not beat me."

"He one hundred percent did."

I notice him slowly approaching me. I instantly get suspicious of what's running through that crazy mind of his.

"I'm sure he did."

"Collins," I warn eyeing him.

"Yeah, baby?" The simple way he says the pet name makes my heart feel like it's gonna burst.

"What are you-" I'm cut off by being dragged into the water by my feet.

I get upset at the fact that I was avoiding having to wash the chlorine out of my hair tonight. Hence, not getting in the pool.

"Ugh, I hate you," I say as I splash Collins. He just laughs which completely melts away all the anger I had towards him.

"You love me." His arms are around me and his hands are on my thighs, pulling me to straddle him.

"Sadly." I smile as he leans in to kiss me. The second his lips touch mine it's like I'm floating and the only thing holding me here is him. I almost don't hear the sound of Devan gagging behind us.

"Sarah, are you coming in?" My friend Melissa asks.

We had come to the beach to have fun. Some of the guys were going to try to surf. While some of them barbequed on the little grill we had brought. Melissa was going to swim like most of the girls were going to.

"Nah, I think I'll just stay back for a little," I call to her.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, go swim."

She runs towards the water with the others and I hug the t-shirt I was wearing closer to my body. It was Collins's shirt. Just a simple black one. But it meant a little bit more to me. I don't know why I wore it. I'm supposed to be here to have fun. Not to think about my boy- my ex-boyfriend.

"Hey, Sarah!" I hear my voice called from behind me. I turn around and see one of the guys. I think his name is Tyler or something. I walk over to him.

"You not swimming?" he asks.

"Nah, I'm just not feeling like it right now."

"Not a big swimmer?"

"No, I love swimming. It's a good way to pass the time. And it's like floating. If that makes sense." I reply smiling.

"Yeah, I get what you mean," he replies. He takes a sip out of his cup that he's holding. "So Melissa told me you had a boyfriend, is that true?"

I'm almost taken back from his sudden question. I hardly know this guy, yet he's asking about a boyfriend? Bold.

"Well, I-"

"Aye, Taylor!" a voice shouts cutting me off. "Tyler" turns his head and waves at somebody. Huh, I guess his name isn't Tyler. Close enough.

"One second, Jay!" he shouts back at the guy. "What were you saying?"

"Oh, it's fine. Go talk to your friend." I really don't know how to reply to somebody asking me if I have a boyfriend. You broke up with Collins, Sarah. No. You don't have a boyfriend.

"You sure? I can stay and get to know you better." He seems genuine, like a really nice guy. I look over his shoulder and see the guy that was yelling for him looking lonely.

"No, it's fine. We can talk later."

"Okay, see ya, Sarah."

"See ya, Taylor." Wow, almost called him Tyler.

After sitting alone for a little while, I get a notification on my phone. It's from some news article. "Collins Key and Veronica Merrell Seen Together At Cozy Cafe"

The simple name of the article sends a ping through my heart. I met the twins, Vanessa and Veronica are both amazing girls, and they're absolutely stunning.

This is the reason I broke up with him, so he could get better opportunities. I was trying to not get hurt. But wow, this hurt. Maybe nothing is going on between them. And maybe something is. Anyway, it shouldn't matter to me. He's not my boyfriend anymore.

My cheeks become wet with tears as my name is called from the water. I snap my head up quickly wiping the tears.

I peel off the t-shirt and my shorts, dropping them and walking towards the water.

A swim is much needed right now.

Hi guys, Merry Christmas (or whatever you celebrate!) I wrote a longer chapter because it's 5 am and I got inspired. The chapter has a little flashback in there because they were cute or whatever.

Let me know what you guys think! Should they get back together or does Tyler, I mean Taylor seem cool?
