Chapter Eleven

I watched as the coffin went into the ground as murmurs filled the whole cemetery

I wiped the remaining tear and smiled

"Finally together" I choked as the crowd fell silent at the plop of the coffin hitting the bottom of the pit

We watched as they piled each pile of dirt, covering him

It started to sink in that I won't ever see him again

People slowly started to leave

Some still weeping, some silent

Everyone patted my back, gave me hugs, kisses, as I watched him get buried in that deep hole

"He's in a better place" I kept telling myself

"He is with his true love and one day, I'll be with them too"

I sniffled and watched as the guy who was filling the hole finished his job

"Sorry for your loss" He said before walking away

Once I was alone, I took a breath of fresh air

Something I hadn't done due to all the crying I did at the funeral

"I love you Daddy" I whispered

"You too Mommy" I choked looking back and forth at the tombstones

They were designed like puzzle pieces

When mom passed away, I wrote a few sentences on a piece of paper and cut it in half, leaving a puzzle piece line instead of a regular straight one

I gave one have to the tombstone designer and told them to only do that

Then when Dad passed away, I gave them the other piece of paper and told them to connect his tombstone like a puzzle piece

Everyone loved my idea and said it was beautiful

Here lies Zayn Malik and Madison

Stories of true love, loss, and hope

Never forget that love over powers anything

I smiled weakly and walked to my car

I went home

"Hey sweetie" I laughed as Toma, my dog, jumped onto my lap

I decided to take Toma for a walk

We walked along the trail in the park

I missed Dad and Mum a lot, but as my dad used to tell me, life goes on

Lost in my thoughts, I bumped into someone

"Oh sorry" I said looking up at a very handsome guy

He had soft blonde hair and warm brown eyes

"Hi, I'm Chase, whats your name?" He smiled, his face extremely close to mine

"Laura" I smiled

5 years later

"Do you, Laura Haley Malik, take Chase Thomson Daniels to be your husband, to forever hold and love, and cherish?"

I wiped a tear sliding down my cheek

"Yes, yes I do" I choked

"You may kiss the bride"
