-Arizona’s POV-
Zeke just had to park so far from the club, and Diane had to make me wear my highest wedges didn’t she. God, my feet are killing me. At least they weren’t heals, but either way they still hurt like hell.
I swear sometimes I think these two just try and team up against me.
It was only 8:00 and I could already hear the music from inside the club from like 100ft away. I’ve never been to this place before but it sure did look scummy, which made me wonder why anyone would want to come here.
I was wearing a long sleeve top with a nice, warm coat, some black skinny jeans and a scarf to top it all off. It was still cold as hell, though. Thankfully it was only snowing a bit.
I hated the snow so much. Sometimes I question why I even live in New York.
We didn’t have to wait in line seeing it was still quite early and it honestly didn’t look and feel like there was much people inside.
Zeke and Diane were at the front and I was following them behind. There were two big bulky security guards at the very front of the club. They open the barrier and allow Zeke and Diane to go in but block it just before I walked in.
I look at the security guard and he looks back at me.
“I.D please,” he demands.
“Uhh, shit.” I say worryingly.
I look through my bag, searching for an identification card.
“Shit, shit, shit,” I say.
Zeke and Diane turn back to me.
"What’s going on?” Zeke asks.
“She doesn’t look old enough to even be here,” the security guard says, “but don’t worry, you should take that as a compliment.”
“Ah fuck!” I exclaim, still searching through my bag.
“Oh come on. Don’t tell me you don’t have your I.D. We’re going to a club for fuck sakes,” Zeke says.
“Well, you know I forget things!” I remind him.
I turn to the security man and walk up to him close enough.
“Look, I am old enough I swear. You see the lines on my forehead! Look at it!” I raise my voice. I point at my forehead and the guard moves backwards.
“It moves. Don’t you see that?” I continue, raising my eyebrows up and down.
He has to let me in! I don’t look that young. I’m 22 years old for god’s sake!
The guard doesn’t look too convinced.
“A?” I hear an all too familiar voice.
Well fuck.
“Arizona?”
I turn around sharply and smile.
I hear Zeke whisper to Diane “awkward.” God, I swear I’m going to kill him.
“Duke,” I greet him with a fake smile. “Uh hi,” I say awkwardly.
“Uhm, wow, hey. I heard you were doing good?” He says, although he made it sound like a question.
“Oh really? Where’d you hear that from?” I say in a dull voice.
“No one, I was just trying to be nice,” he says.
I notice a lady next to, or even behind him. Could she be a girlfriend or?
I was arguing with myself in my head whether I should say something or not, but my stupid mouth just had to speak up without even thinking.
