Wei spent whole days trying to figure out how to approach Yunlan again. He knew it was up to him now, after everything that had happened Yunlan wouldn't be the one to reach out to him first, probably fearing a bad reaction, so it was entirely up to him.

He thought of simply going up to his office and ask him out, but then he freaked out. It had been four months, what if Yunlan was over him?

Every day Yunlan worked long after Wei's hours, and every night Wei was busy at his second job. A 'casual meeting' seemed really difficult, and Wei was at a loss.

He didn't have Yunlan's initiative, he never realised how Yunlan had pretended to have a sudden phone call or some emergency at work only to 'casually' lure him into changing their relationship.

Yunlan had always loved the sex between them, but he had realised much sooner than Wei that he might be feeling much more.
The only way to know for sure was for them to spend some time together without sex (or before the sex) so he had come up with little tricks.

Wei had not noticed how Yunlan's feelings were growing fast, he hadn't had the slightest suspicion when Yunlan hurt his foot so clumsily, he would have never been able to come up with elaborate plans like that.

So Wei spent his time simply thinking of how he could have a good excuse to talk to him again. He should have just told him that he wished for another chance, but now that he wanted Yunlan to know what he really felt for him, suddenly he was unable to be as bold as he had once been. He needed something to start him off on the right track, an excuse to face him again.

Today was no different, and he didn't know what to do.
Suddenly Cong Bo called him personally, and he got worried. Had he done something wrong? Maybe he had been too spaced-out thinking of Yunlan instead of doing his job?

He hurried to hear what he had to tell him, trying to decipher his expression.
"Lin Jin told me that you went to the Z company yourself to sort out the discrepancies in their last deliveries," Cong Bo said, looking intently at him.

Wei panicked, it had happened two days ago. Many times he had heard the employees complain that they didn't receive exactly what they had ordered and Wei had felt sorry for them. They worked hard and they deserved a little break.

The catering company provided them with their food. Yunlan's company rarely closed for lunch, they usually only had a small break to eat before going back to work.
Years ago they used to bring their food from home, but then the president had retired leaving his daughter in his place and she was quite whimsical when it came to food, she liked to eat something different every day, and her choice would change day by day depending how the morning had started.

Sometimes she felt tired and wanted energetic food, sometimes she felt fat and asked for light dishes, she would crave different things after she started work, depending if she was angry, sad, happy, upset, excited or bored.

She had made a good deal with the Z company that would benefit both. She would get to decide what she wanted during the morning and they would have a contract that guaranteed them daily work.

The Z company had just started and it was a good chance for them, but lately they were growing and had many other requests, and were neglecting their contract.

All the employees had been happy of this agreement at first, because the catering was paid by the company, but they weren't satisfied anymore with their services.

After finishing his hours, Wei had gone there to clear things up for them, and yesterday they had all received what they wanted. He had been pleased, thinking he had done good, but maybe he overstepped his position? It wasn't his place to deal with this sort of things after all.

He realised he had been silent under Cong Bo's gaze when he heard him go on. "You told one of their workers that they weren't doing their job well, that they were shaming their company's name."

Wei didn't know what to say, so he just nodded, and Cong Bo went on. "You stayed there an hour and even talked to their manager!"

Wei blushed. "The guy didn't seem interested in my complaint, so I..."

"So you told the manager that they weren't taking any pride in their job."

"But they weren't, any job should be done at one's best capabilities and..."

"You told him that any McDonald's employee would do better than them!"

"I know a mistake can happen to everyone but usually they don't..."

"Your hours were over, you just had to give everyone what had been delivered for them and go home, why did you go there?"

Wei sighed, and wondered if it would become easier or even more difficult to approach Yunlan if he lost this job.

He said, "I'm sorry sir, but everyone here works so hard, it wasn't right that the Z company was treating them so poorly. It's a great thing that this company supplies their lunch, and they never complained to you for fear of losing that, but there is a contract and those guys are getting paid, so they should have some respect and do their job properly."

"Yeah, I heard you said that too."

Wei blushed again and said nothing for a while, but Cong Bo's stare was making him uncomfortable, so he said, "I know it wasn't my place sir, I understand, I will leave..."

"I will leave this matter to you from now on," Cong Bo interrupted him.
"You'll get a small raise and a bonus."

"I... what?"

"Not much, just a little thank you, I finally got what I ordered as well. You can't imagine what they gave me last week, some sort of noodles made with coffee, I still have nightmares when I think of it, we had sent a complaint but it didn't do much, we would have been forced to break the contract and go back to the way it was before, but now we can all enjoy a free meal at the company's expenses."

Wei was surprised and delighted, things had turned out well, he didn't lose his job and he would even get more money!

He thanked Cong Bo and got back to his job, thinking of Yunlan's face when he'd go home and tell him what happened...

...then his excitement died down thinking that Yunlan wouldn't be waiting for him at home anymore.

Wei froze, stunned at his own thoughts.
Home... when did he start thinking of Yunlan's apartment as home? God, he really was an idiot.

Wei sighed, it was all his fault and he had to put things right, now.
I miss him so much, he thought. I want him in my arms again.

Yunlan might still be in love with him, or he might have moved on, but Wei decided that he would try anyway. He would make him fall in love again if necessary.
One way or another, he had to do something.
He wanted him back.

 He wanted him back
