Era

"Fuck!"

Henry was mumbling some cusses countless times as he drove like a free-falling bullet.

I found myself wiping the tears trailing across my cheeks as I reclined uncomfortably on the seat next to him. I was trying to hide it with my hair covering some portion of my face, but my uncontrollable sobs called his attention so he turned over to me.

"I'm so sorry, Era. I was drunk, but I'm telling you... I will never do that again to you."

He was really oblivious to my feelings. Hearing that from him just stiffened the muscles in my chest, squeezing and mashing my heart so hard. So why did he kiss me? Was it really due to that fucking whiskey or he wanted me, he just wouldn't want to accept it?

We arrived home at almost two in the morning. From the parking lot, up to the elevator, then down the corridor, his lips were as silent as the cold air. He too was cold.

As we reached the apartment's door, he grabbed his keys inside his jacket and sighed as he twisted the doorknob. He went inside after me.

I stopped beside the counter but didn't turn to him. "Why are you saying sorry for kissing me?"

I heard him take a deep breath. "Oh come on, Era. That was stupidly wrong. Daddies don't kiss their daughters like that!"

I finally turned my back to face him. I walked over to him and the three inches distance of our eyes met. I was slightly raising my head to him due to his towering height.

"Enough for denying, Henry. I have done it before but it just got deeper."

His jaws hardened. "I won't blame you if you're getting this in the wrong way, Era. But that doesn't mean-"

I shut Henry from reasoning by kissing him. It was not just a simple kiss. It's a passionate one - deep, slow, and sensual. Not a second later, his lips parted. Groaning, he slid his tongue inside my mouth and I almost lost my breath. I mentally smiled. I was right. Damn Right! He wanted me too and it wasn't because of the goddam alcohol.

I pulled away and saw his eyes still closed. Me, on the other hand, licked my own lips, savoring the smooth aftertaste of his lips. "Now tell me, Henry. Am I really misinterpreting you?" I asked him.

He uttered no response which forced me to turn to my back. With my eyes still misty, I managed to take heavy steps away from him until I reached my bedroom.

Wiping my tears, I threw myself on the mattress and covered myself with a blanket. The room was dead silent. Placid. The gentle breeze coming from the slightly opened window whispered a sweet lullaby into my ears, yet I couldn't fall asleep. What did I just do? It felt like I just turned into a dirty itchy bitchy slut.

Burn, Era. He's just rejected you!

I squeezed my eyes shut and took a deep breath. I tried to relax and ignored my inner ear from nagging. Then not a minute later, my senses had gone paralyzed into sleep.

I wasn't aware of the time when my slumber was interrupted by some force applied to my bed. It seemed that someone had lodged on the other side, causing me to get nervous... at the same time excited. So I carefully flipped to the other side and my mouth fell open, seeing Henry.

I sat on the bed and pressed my back against the headboard. "Why are you here?" I whispered, lowering my chin, though that intimidating sight of muscles and abs was gradually awakening the carnal heat forming inside my core. Call it fucking lust but that thing was occupying me that time.

"Just checking on you," he muttered, reaching for my face. He tucked some strands of my hair behind my ear and then he placed his hand on the surface of my bed. One more move and he was close to touching my bare legs since I was wearing nothing.
