The Day I Left // The Outsiders

Chapter 3

I couldn't believe how many friends I had now and they all cared for me. When're said of co I woke up Johnny had his arms around my waist. I flushed a bright red and tried to act calm. Last night I didn't care I was a total mess but now I'm back to normal and have to get ready for the DX soon. I untangled myself from Johnny and grabbed my DX shirt my black skater skirt and my red converse. I grabbed my tooth brush and my brush and headed for the bathroom. The second I opened my door of course Dally.
"Hey you know where Johnnycakes went last night?"
He asked. I pushed my door open just a little bit more so he could see he was asleep on my bed.
"Oh I see"
He said of course he got the wrong idea.
"Oh my god Dallas he just stayed up with me and watched my family movies until we both fell asleep"
I explained walking out the door.
"Oh sure I know you have a crush on him"
He stated. I felt my cheeks go red.
"And I know that no matter how hard you try you always end up caring for someone"
I said before I shut and locked the bathroom door. I hopped in the shower then I put my cloths on. I brushed my hair and it was already starting to curl up. I threw it back in a ponytail then walked out with my laundry. I opened my bedroom door and Johnny was still asleep probably the first time he has ever slept on something comportable. I grabbed my satchel then I went over to Johnny. I leaned over the bed resting my hands on the bed to keep me upright.
"Johnny I'm going to be leaving for work soon"
I whispered to him. A small smile crept upon his face and I blushed at how cute he was.
"Are you sure you have to leave"
He said. I play punched his shoulder and he laughed. He rolled over and looked at me.
"Did you see dally yet?"
He asked. I nodded.
"Yup he started bugging me the second I got up"
I said. He laughed and found his way up.
"I'm gonna head out now see you guys later?"
I said as we both walked out the door.
"Yup"
He said as I locked the door. I turned to talk to him more but he was already in Dallas's room. I made my way to the DX and Soda was already there like always.
"Hey ash"
He said.
"Hi Sodapop"
I said. He smiled.
"Did Dallas get you home safe?"
He asked. I nodded.
"He try's to act tuff but really he couldn't care more about you and Johnny"
He stated.
"I know he is like my big brother"
I,said and Soda laughed.
"Steve is doing cash register today so you and me will be pumping gas"
He said. I nodded and punched in. I walked out and Soda came out behind me he wrapped his arms around my waist and spun me around.
"Ashley do you wanna go to the Dingo with me and the guys tonight?"
He asked. I nodded and he set me down.
"Why did you pick me up to ask?"
"Because if you said no I was going to keep you up there until I convinced you"
I rolled my eyes at him.
By the time we had to leave work I had Soda and Steve walk with me to Bucks so I could get ready. I ended up deciding on a light blue dress that had a buttons up to the collar and it was sleeveless and like always my red converse over and I threw my red leather jacket over. Me Steve and Soda walked back to there place and met the boys. He whole way there they whooped and cheered and started freaking out I guess they liked going to the Dingo. Once we got to the Dingo the music was blaring and everyone was dancing everywhere. Soda heard the mambo and grabbed my hand.
"C'mon I love this one"
He yelled dragging me to the dance floor.
"Soda I don't dance"
I said. He gave me a smirk.
"Then why in your application for schools you had Pioneer, Central Baptist, and Gitta Dance Studio. It also read 14 1/2 years at Gotta Dance"
He said. He got me.
"Yah okay so I dance a little"
I said. He laughed at me.
"A little more like 14 1/2 years of it"
"Oh shove up your butt"
I said playfully hitting him and we both laughed.
"But I can't say I don't dance either don't tell the guys but when I was little my mom made me take ballroom classes which included the Mambo"
He whispered to me. I giggled at his words.
"I may have learned the Mambo since I was five years old"
I said back to him. He raised his eyebrows and gave me an idea look.
"Well the. Let's show these fools up"
He said moving my hands into position. I laughed. I was surprised though he did the whole dance perfectly even the lifts which in the middle of the song I asked him if he could do them and he did it perfectly. We both didn't realize everyone was watching until they all cheered when the song ended. Once we were done Soda walked away because he didn't want to reveal his deep dark secret so I ended up dancing with Johnny.
"You and Soda did really good"
He yelled to me over the music. I laughed.
"Do not tell the boys but Soda is a pretty good dancer himself"
I said. He now laughed.
"I need to learn some of his moves then because this whole 1 2 3 Carl is really making me mad"
He said. We both laughed. Johnny didn't do to bad for a beginner though but I didn't want to say anything if he was anything like Soda he might of wanted his secrets kept to himself.
