Chapter One
Dani P.O.V.
"What are you doing in here? The boy's bathroom is down the hall," Star taunts.
Of course, as soon as I'm about to finish up in the bathroom Paulina and her entourage, which includes Star and a few other girls, came in here to taunt me and flaunt their riches. They love to bully me almost as much as Dash bullies Tucker, Sam, and me.
If you didn't already know Tucker and Sam are both guys and they both happen to be my best and only friends. We get made fun of because my parents are the town weirdos, Sam because he's a goth, and Tucker because he happens to be a techno-geek, while he might be a geek he is very skilled with technology. Anyway back to my current predicament.
"You all know that I'm not a male nor do I have any male genitals," I tell them as nicely as possible and even throw in a fake smile.
"Are you sure about that? You hang out with two boys and act more male than female, you don't even wear make-up or dress like a girl," Paulina scoffed.
"I assure you I have all of the same parts you do and I don't need a pound of make-up on my face to get a boy."
"Are you sure about that you barely have a chest. The only reason you don't need a boy is because of your two boy toys," Star adds.
"Unlike you, I'm not someone who plays with peoples emotions. Now, will you please allow me to exit?" I ask smiling.
"No, I don't think you can. At least not looking like you do, maybe we should rough you up a little then you'll at least look somewhat presentable," Paulina says walking forward but before she even can the bathroom door opens and Jazz enters.
"Ah, there you are Ellie, I've been looking everywhere for you. Are these girls giving you any problems because if they are I ca-"
"No, it's fine Jazz we were just having a conversation we can go though,". I tell her and push her out through the door.
"Sam and Tucker said you had to go to the bathroom and then they said they saw Paulina and came to get me because they couldn't just walk in without getting reported and you three have enough detentions already."
"I know I think we have detentions going all the way into next school year. Thanks for coming when you did. We all know what happened the last time Paulina and her crew followed me into the bathroom after that Sam and Tucker were super overprotective and that was not a fun year."
"Alright, I have to go back to class but Sam and Tucker told me to tell you to meet them in your regular spot," She tells me leaving and I walk the opposite direction towards the lawn for my free block that I happen to share with Tucker and Sam.
It takes me almost no time to reach the doors that lead outside. When Paulina said that I didn't dress like a girl it was kind of the truth. I don't exactly dress like every other girl but I don't exactly dress like a boy. My hair is usually in a ponytail sometimes brushed, sometimes not and then I wear blue jeans and a t-shirt but during the winter I wear a sweatshirt because the school gets freezing.
"Did everything go okay? Did they hurt you?" The boys ask in concern.
"No, they didn't lay a finger on me Jazz came at the perfect time. Did we really have to meet outside though it's freezing?" I say rubbing my arms for warmth.
"Well it was either here or dealing with Dash in the art room," Sam says and hands me the jacket that he's wearing.
"Thanks, I think I would rather freeze out here than deal with him."
