han jisung.
"yo, jisung," i heard the familiar voice call out as i turned around to face the owner of the voice.
"what now?" i asked as i put my journal and pen down.
"what are you writing? song lyrics again?" he grabbed my book. i shook my head aggressively as i snatched my journal back from him.
"no, it's nothing," i said, keeping my book in my backpack as someone stopped in front of us.
"hi!" the enthusiastic girl waved as i looked up to face her, then feeling my heart beat ten times faster than it did before.
"hi, minji. what are you doing here?" changbin asked as i was at a loss for words.
"i came to collect something from your class. oh yeah, are we still heading home together today? if not i'll just follow jisung home," she smiled as i felt my heart flutter.
"i'm free, i need to head home to get my presentation cards done. oh right, minji, you have a meeting to get to, don't you?" a meeting? i thought as i recalled my father wanting me to go to the meeting to chairman oh and his daughter, who supposedly was my classmate.
"that reminds me, i have a meeting on later, any advice?" i asked.
"don't feel nervous, just voice your opinion out, and try to be understanding of theirs'."
"thanks, i'll try my best," i said as the bell went off.
"well, i'll get what i came here for and get going, have fun in class!" she walked away and i felt sad again, missing her.
i don't know what came over me. i never believed in love anyway. for all i know, she could leave me, like everyone else.
and it hurt me just thinking about it.

"so, jisung, you're having a meeting later?" minji asked as the three of us headed out of the school gates.
"yeah, my father wants me to go even though i've never been to one," i said, tugging on the straps of my backpack.
"ah, i see. don't worry too much about it, i was once like you, but if you don't like going to meetings, you should make it clear to your father, don't let him push you around. you have your own dream," she smiled, giving me a sense of reassurance and relief.
"so, changbin. did you take care of jisung like i told you to?"
"yeah yeah, he's such a handful, how do you manage to find him during thunderstorms?"
"i don't know, it's like my feet bring me to where he is like magic."
if it really is magic, thank the gods i appreciate it so much. i had an inner monologue, being quiet while the other two chatted.
"jisung? why aren't you talking? you usually talk so much it's hard to shut you up-"
"dude, really?" i looked at him, done.
"don't mind him, so what time will your meeting be later?" she asked, tossing a piece of her bar of chocolate into changbin's mouth, which he caught, to shut him up.
"i actually don't know," i shrugged, and my phone started ringing.
i excused myself and moved to the corner. it was an incoming call, from a person who's id was 'dad'. i let out a small sarcastic laugh as i muttered, "if only he acted like one," before picking up the call.
"hello?" i asked.
"no 'hello, father'? show some respect, you delinquent," i flinched upon hearing his harsh words.
"i'm sorry, father."
"well don't be sorry anymore, you need to get back home immediately. the business meeting starts at 5:30p.m. sharp," he emphasized the word 'sharp' as he hung up.
great, 'delinquent'. how many more words of criticism does he have for me? i felt a tear roll down my cheek, before quickly wiping it away.
"jisung? are you okay?" the girl asked worriedly.
"i'm fine, i have to go, my dad wants me home, to prepare for the meeting," i grabbed the thermal flask from my backpack and gave it to her, before slinging my backpack over my shoulder and brisk walking away.
