The explosion went off somewhere behind Cade and the others and the ground shook violently. The depressing excuse for a planet was soon completely covered in smoke and a noise in Cade's head was ringing loudly. Cade couldn't see a thing through the smoke on the already-dark planet and his head was killing him.
"Master!" Cade yelled frantically. "Shado!"
But no one answered. Cade turned around again and again, but no one answered him. Cade couldn't see anything, but as the ringing sound in his head faded, he could hear mass footsteps approaching. Vong.
Cade hoped Wolf and Shado had ran as far away as they could, because he didn't have time to look for them. Cade made a split-second decision on a direction and began sprinting in that direction.
He didn't stop running. Not when the wound on his side started hurting, not when his head continued hurting, not when his legs gave out, and not even when he hadn't heard a Vong footstep or voice in hours. Cade completely lost track of time. He could have been running for hours, days, nights, weeks. Who knew? Cade didn't know if it was day or night on the planet, because it was so dark. Maybe it was always night on Wayland. Cade didn't know when to sleep, because he constantly felt tired from running. He didn't know when he needed to eat, because there was a constant pain in his stomach from cramping. Cade was lost, and he didn't know if it was a good thing or a bad thing.
After eternity, Cade fell to his knees. He tried to get back up, as he had before when he had fallen, but his legs wouldn't let him stand. Cade took a moment to look around and take in his surroundings. Nothing looked any different from what it usually looked like. Everything was dark, black, and damp. Except... there was one thing different. A cave opening, with a strange light coming from it.
Maybe there's someone in there that could help, Cade thought.
There was also this strange tugging in Cade's gut, getting stronger and stronger as Cade approached the Cade and erupting as Cade entered the Cade and followed the light deeper and deeper inside.
The inside of the cave was pretty similar to the surface of the planet. Damp, dark, and cold. The rough ceiling of the cave was very low, and Cade would bump his head every now and again upon it. There were also some more black worms and other disgusting insects that Cade tried his best to ignore. And then there was the feeling of the cave. It had the tugging sensation that Cade knew he had felt before, he just couldn't remember where. As he continued, the pulling in his gut was more distinguished, and it felt stronger and... better. Cade realized he liked that tugging sensation, and wanted more. So he went deeper into the cave, toward the light.
But it was strange. As Cade went further down into the cave, the light was becoming dimmer, not brighter. Cade went faster and faster through the cave, and eventually, the light completely vanished, leaving Cade in complete darkness. Cade realized that he had reached the bottom of the cave, which opened into a single open area. In the area, Cade could barely make out a single figure standing with their back turned.
"Master?" Cade asked, surprised at the sight of someone. "Shado?"
The figure turned around slowly, and Cade realized that it was neither Sazen nor Shado. It was a figure of a man who wore armor that looked to be made out of bones, with spikes rising from the shoulders, legs, and helmet. The man pulled something out of both of his pockets and Cade immediately realized what they were. Lightsaber hilts, two of them. The man ignited the lightsabers, and the room lit up in a red glowing color. Cade stepped back in fear, realizing who the man was. The man was a Sith.
