A New Friend

   It turns out Ulric's not just all about looks, unlike some people in our class...but as I expected, he is getting chased by girls. Already. Making me get lots of evil looks. Uhh. Great. I walk through the school gates, the strong black iron rusting a bit, growing weak, as the years are battering at it's existence.

    I walk down the road towards the Primary School. Autumn leaves fall from shedding grey trees. My eyes search the sky for a sign of the end, of this dying season. The ends of my mouth twitches, pulls down then pulls up to a straight line. I keep walking to the smaller gates of the Primary School; the gate a crimson red, marking the reality of leaving the place to the bigger building standing next to it.

    My bag thumps against my left leg, as I put one leg in front of the other. My eyes scan the playground for my younger brother, Blake. So...Dark brown hair, dark brown, dark... There he is.

    I watch as a boy with straight longish dark brown hair comes towards me. He wears a beaming smile on his face, if any one was to see us standing next to each other they wouldn't think we were siblings. “How was the trip?” I ask, curious.

“Not to bad, better than last year,” he replies with a approving look.

“I see,” I say with a smile.

“Yep and you know I was telling you about Sam...” Blake looks at me, a confused look crosses my face, “...you know, the new kid?”

“Oh him, yeah,” I say a little embarrassed.

“Yeah anyway, I sort of helped him out while we were climbing so he, like became...well... we became friends,” he says looking down.

I laugh, “And you were the one saying how annoying he was.”

Blake glared at me and I retuned it with a mocking smile.

“We should start walking home now,” Blake says annoyed.

"You're cheeks are red," I say and wait for his reaction.

Blake ignores me and starts walking faster.

I smirk with victory.

This is where I start to attempt to add humor...
