Amy woke up to the smell of waffles. Her favorite. She sat up and realized Ty had gotten up and made her breakfast. She sat there for a minute before she started to get nauseous. The smell of waffles was overwhelming her. "What the heck she loved waffles?" she thought. Her train of thought was interrupted as she ran as quickly as she could to the bathroom. But not fast enough. She started to throw up. Everywhere. Ty looked over and ran to her. He quickly grabbed her hair and guided her to the toilet. He rubbed her back soothingly until she was done. "You okay?"

"I don't know. I feel awful." She frowned. "I normally love waffles but now just the smell of them is making me nauseous.

"It's okay, I'll get rid of them." Ty helped her up and onto the couch and quickly gathered all the waffles and ingredients and went downstairs to put it into the trash. "Why are you throwing those away?"

Ty looked up to see Jack. "Well I made Amy breakfast. Waffles, which are her favorite, well normally. Now she's vomiting at the smell of them." He explained.

"Oh yes, I remember that stage." Jack giggled.

"Well I better get back up there." Ty told him.

"Good luck." Jack patted his back and Ty went back into the barn and up the stairs to the loft.

"Feeling any better?" He asked cautiously.

"No, I feel like I'm dying." Amy replied dramatically. "It's never been this bad before."

"Well we have that doctors appointment tomorrow, we can talk to her about this then." Ty reminded her.

Ty sat down on the couch and slid her over held her in his arms. "How do you feel now?"

"I don't feel like I'm gonna puke as badly now, but my head hurts, and my throat. And I have vomit all over me. Oh Ty! the bathroom! I threw up everywhere. I'm sorry." She sighed as she tried to get up.

"Hey it's okay. I've got it. Just lay down and relax." Ty got up and found the cleaning supplies and started cleaning all of Amy's vomit up. Lovely. Just what he wanted to be doing at 8 am. But he loved Amy, and would do anything for her.

"Amy how about a shower?" He asked after he finished cleaning up.

"That sounds nice." She turned her head and smiled. "I really love you."

"I really love you too." He smiled back and went back into the bathroom to turn on the shower.

After a shower and drinking some ginger ale and crackers Amy started to feel a little better. They spent the whole day talking about the baby and the future. They couldn't wait for the next day to see their baby for the first time.

Amy woke up the following morning feeling the same as the day before. But this time she made it to the bathroom in time. And somehow didn't wake Ty. She puked a couple times before shouting his name. "Ty!"

He woke up to Amy yelling. Not loud but loud enough to wake him up. He jumped up and realized she was of course in the bathroom. Puking. Yay. He hurried to her and held her hair and rubbed her back. "Still pretty bad huh?"

She puked a few more times and the responded. "Yeah. But I think I'm done. For now at least." She stood up slowly but not slow enough. Her head started to spin but luckily Ty was right there to catch her. "Hey, take it easy."

"I'm just really nauseous and lightheaded. Can you help me back to bed?" She asked him barely speaking loud enough to hear.

"Yeah, here I'll lay with you." Ty felt so awful. He wished he could make her feel better, but he knew he couldn't. He just let her lay on his chest and fall back asleep. He rubbed her back and played with her hair while she slept.

A couple hours later Amy was woken up by Ty. "Hey, Amy, you've got to get up. We've got to go to that appointment."

She just stared at him before it registered what he was talking about. She was suddenly filled with excitement. She was going to see the baby for the first time.

She got up and got ready. She wore her favorite light blue, jean like shirt and a pair of dark jeans with her cowboy boots. But no hat. Not today. "You ready?" Ty asked as Amy was finishing in the bathroom.

"Yeah, I'm really excited. And feeling a little better." She smiled.

"I'm so excited too." He kissed her cheek and led her down to the truck.

They talked the whole way there and waited patiently in the waiting room. "Amy Borden?" The nurse called.

They got up and followed her back. They took her blood pressure, height, weight, and temperature and then they took her to an exam room and told her the doctor would be in shortly. "You nervous?" Ty interrupted the silence.

"A little. Mostly excited. What about you?" She asked shyly.

"Yeah im a little nervous. But very excited." He squeezed her hand. There was a knock at the door and then doctor Verani appeared. "Well hello! It's great to see you two!"

"You too!" They said in unison.

"So it looks like you're pregnant, huh? 11 weeks already. You're almost done with your first trimester. How are you feeling?" She asked.

"Pretty okay. Except the morning sickness is awful. I puke probably 4-5 times a morning and I can't keep anything down. And I'm exhausted." Amy told her.

Ty chimed "I haven't noticed the morning sickness being this bad tho until this past week or so. She pukes all morning and ultimately has to just go back to sleep."

"Hmm..." Dr. Verani thought for a minute. "It just sounds like really awful morning sickness to me. Im sorry to tell you this, but I don't think it will end with your first trimester. Some people have it through their whole pregnancy."

Amy sighed and looked at Ty. "It's okay, we can do this." He smiled down at her.

Dr. Verani took out the ultrasound and rolled it over to her. "Ready to take a look?"

"So ready." Amy smiled.

"Everything looks very healthy and good. Would you guys like a blood test to find out the gender?" She asked politely.

Amy looked up at Ty then back at the doctor. "I think we're gonna wait and be surprised."

"Okay well then here are your pictures and I'll see you back next month!" And with that they left and returned home where Amy fell asleep and Ty did some paperwork.
