what the heart wants but mind won't have

Your gentle words fill my ears and send shivers down my spine.

Your fingers trace my skin and leave goosebumps in its wake.

Your lips touch my temple tenderly
Touch my ear and neck roughly
Sending blood rushing to my cheeks.

Your presence makes my heart do flips
Makes my smiles a little more brighter
My soul a little lighter.

But to admit this I will not.
Because past experience has taught me I'm not fit for love.

It is my kryptonite
Each exposure heart stopping , soul crushing and life ending.

And honey I don't think I could take another fall. Because if you're not there to catch me like the rest.

I won't bother ever standing up at all.
