Will rocked on the balls of his feet, fidgeting with something in the pocket of his jeans as he awaited Nico. Something about nerves, or more like something about adhd, making him move constantly.
Nico practically ran out of the flower shop, hair a mess and wearing the same clothes Will had seen him in earlier. Will took a second to take that in, realizing maybe a bit too early into the relationship that Nico would probably look good in anything.
"I didn't know we were supposed to dress up." Nico commented, looking Will up and down. Will chuckled, scratching the back of his neck nervously.
"I mean, it is a date, but that's alright! I just like dressing up when I'm not at work."
"This is a date?" Nico asked, and cocked his head slightly to the side, seeming slight confused.
Will scrambled to cover his tracks-"Only if you want it to be! You did agree to a date but if you don't-"
"I'm fucking with you, of course it's a date. I just didn't have time to change."
Will smiled, "Ah, I see the type of person you are. That's alright, this didn't have to be formal. We're just seeing some superhero movie."
"You're taking me to a movie? How classic of you. I didn't know movie dates still happened." Nico silently realized that he should have brought a jacket, but didn't say anything as they started walking towards Will's car.
"My sister suggested it, I don't know why I listened to her, she doesn't know anything about romance."
"Hey, my sister and her boyfriend still go on movie dates after a year of being together. It's pretty romantic. Probably. I wouldn't know." Nico shrugged.
"If you're with the right person, they can be pretty romantic, I think! Here's my car, it's a hunk of junk. But it's big, optimal for road trips! We've fit ten people in here before!" Will happily unlocked his car, getting in swiftly.
Nico followed suit, looking around the minivan that definitely didn't have ten seats. "I think that's illegal."
"Oh it was absolutely illegal. I was only seventeen at the time too, wasn't supposed to be driving other minors. But that didn't stop us! It was only a few minutes anyway." Will waved it off, starting the car and starting on towards the cinema.
"I just didn't peg you as a rule-breaker."
"I work at a tattoo shop, you have to commit at least a few crimes to do that! And it was to get pizza before a highschool performance. We needed that pizza."
"High school performance-you just gave me a lot of information in not a lot of time, you gotta slow down." Nico actually had to process everything said-the crimes part, the pizza, the high school performance.
"I'll tell you the whole story on the way there!"A/n uhh true story. I wasn't the one driving but it was on the way from a pizza place to our high school so we could perform Newsies on full stomachs. I sat on the floor. It was a very chaotic day.
