Jesse's perspective.
"Make me"
This girls got a death wish.
I watched her breathe shallowly in the small space between us, as if she could claim all the oxygen and I would suffocate.
I looked back into her eyes and laughed. I couldn't tell if she was scared or not, she was definitely either brave or stupid. Then again, she was facing up to me so I'm going with stupid.
"Well I guess the games up" I laughed.
"Huh?" She blurted out looking confused.
"I wouldn't fight a girl, I'm not like that"
"What? You think I couldn't take it?"I'd never paid attention to her before, but then again I don't pay attention to girls, they pay attention to me.
She had long light brown hair, completely straight that fell down way past her waist. Her cheeks flaming with anger and a spark of it glinting behind her grey eyes, the curve of her light pink lips, the curl of her eyelashes.
"I could take it more than Aaron. So back off him" she continued.
"Alright alright I get it, you're protective."And kind of hot.
"But your brother really should watch himself. He's got more of a death wish than you" I added, and it was true.
"I do not have a de-"I interrupted her with the raise of one of my eyebrows. Seeing the jealous look wipe across her face, I smirked, proud of the rare skill I had acquired.
She trained her eyes off my face and quickly swept them over me.
"Cigarette?"
She still didn't look back up at me.
"Erm, no thanks"
I lit one up and lent back again the cold brick wall. The familiar taste filled my mouth and the smoke cascaded from between my lips, tendrils reaching out into the air around me.
You'll quit tomorrow, Jesse.
I had always meant to quit smoking, but I could never bring myself to do it. Never had the will power. It was never something I wanted for the the nicotine my brain screamed for, although that was an advantage. I craved them for the reassurance that not everything changes. They were always there, like a string weaved and interlinked between the chains and events in life.
Through the smoke spiralling in the air, I could see her leaning now on the wall beside me, and I focused on her in detail.
To my surprise, I noticed a light tracing of black ink painted across the left side of her face. I smirked, and my lips let a laugh slip free, breaking her rather noticeable gaze at my collar tattoos.
"W-what?" She spluttered rather flustered.
"Here"I licked my thumb and lent close to her, breathing smokey breath down her neck. I could feel her tense up. Wiping the last of the pen off her face, I winked at her and then turned away, returning to my previous position against the wall with a smile.
"Oh, I erm, I thought I got all of that off my fa-"
"Oi Jesse!"Shit. I'm late.
That's Corbin, tall with dirty blonde hair and a serious smoking habit. Worse than me in fact. His pale blue eyes gleamed at me and his eyebrows gestured to the girl leaning next to me.
"You coming or what?"
And that's Damon. Probably the most muscular of all of us but definitely the shortest, and we never let him forget it. Jet black hair stood up on his head with eyes the same colour murky water.
They walked right up to us.
"Well, what's going on here Jesse?" Damon asked raising his eyebrows.
"Watch it short-stack." I answered, sending Corbin into fits of laughter.
"Come on then, haven't got all day. Blue, Immy and Clara are waiting"Oh great. Those three. Blonde bitchy barbie girls. And worst part is Blue thinks she owns me.
"Well looks like I'm being called. Try not to get into any more fights. Not everyone is as much of a gentleman as me" I told her smirking.
"Make me" she mocked winking at me, making me laugh. And with that I walked off with Damon and Corbin, jostling with me and elbowing my sides.
"Who's that then?"
"Yeah Jesse, Bleu won't be happy about her" Corbin added with a wink.
"Shut it you two" I said, and that finished it.For now, at least.
Well hey.
