Picking A Good Title

Many a time have I read stories with titles such as 'The Bad Boys Girl' or 'The Alphas Omega Mate' and while these may be good in theory these types of titles tend to become repetitive and can make your story seem bland.

A good thing to consider is not letting your title reveal to much about your story. For example, with a title such as "The Bad Boys Girl" we already know far to much about the plot of our story. We already know that the main characters will end up together so what would be the point in reading the story? There will be no romantic suspense because we already know how the story ends.

Additionally, a title should be original. The issue with titles like the ones above is that they sound the same as any other story, making your writing appear cliché.

A simple tool to avoid this would be by using any key characteristics within your story as inspiration for a title. For example, if I were to write a story about a teenage werewolf being rejected by their mate a good title could be 'The Undesirables'. This adds a tone of mystery to the title and sounds much more interesting than 'The Alphas Rejected Mate'.

So, always remember...
