Chapter 1

Lauren's POV
"Okay mum, bye see you soon!"
I was out pennyboarding with my friends, it was summer in England and for once it was hot so why not take advantage of the weather. My mum told me to come back as my dad's friend and their family from work were coming over for dinner. I was nervous to meet them as I got quite shy around new people but hopefully it won't be too bad.

Me and my friends started skating back, they decided to skate to my house and drop me off instead of going back to their houses as they both wanted to go to the shop near my house. The sun was so nice but I was boiling as we had been skating for almost 3 hours now!! Even in a crop top and shorts I was sweating and needed a shower. As we reached my house I hugged my friends goodbye and told them to text me whenever they wanna meet up again.

I went the back way into my house and went to put my pennyboard away. I saw another car in our garage and guessed the family had already arrived. As I got into my house my mum told me to go get showered and ready and that dinner will in in 1 hour. As I was walking up the stairs I could hear voices from the lounge, I didn't know if my dad's friends had any kids and if they did I didn't know how old they were. It sounded like there was a little girl and maybe a boy, I couldn't tell really and was too busy concentrating on getting ready.
