San worked at a 24 hour convience store and had the night shift. He had dealt with his fair share of drunken people, and it completely didn't phase him, that was until tonight. He was peacefully working, sitting behind the counter waiting for customers. He sat on his phone most of the night since he really didn't have anything else to do when there were no customers.
A few people had come and gone through the night, but it was now 3:30 in the morning and San was getting tired, and no one had come in for about an hour. Suddenly a super drunk man came in. San was used to drunk idiots so he just sat there waiting for him to be done shopping and come pay. "Where the fuck are the chips?" The man yelled. "The aisle over, sir." San responded, trying to help the man. "I could've done it on my own! Don't you fucking help me!" He yelled, as he walked over to San. "Sir, my job is to help." San replied. "Get the fuck over here." The man said, and San didn't know what else to do so he stepped out from behind the counter and tood in front of the man.
"You deserve this for thinking you could help me." The man said, and before San could even begin to think about what it meant, his body was thrown to the ground after the man punched him. The man crawled down and straddled over his legs and continued to punch him. San's face was bloody and his body was weak. He'd been hit so many times he couldn't even try to defend himself. He felt he was gonna die on the floor of the convience store. That was until a group of boys came in, they were chuckling, before stopping in their tracks to see San's almost lifeless body. "Get the fuck off of him!" Mingi yelled and went to go rip the man off of him, Yunho followed and helped Mingi pull the man off of the small body laying on the floor.
The others looked scared, they didn't know what to do, but once Yunho and Mingi pulled the man off, they went to help the boy. "Seonghwa call the fucking cops!" Mingi yelled as him and Yunho held the man down. Seonghwa did as told and called the police. Soon sirens were heard through the city and they pulled up at the store, two men came in and pulled the man out of the two boys grip. They got questioned as they also were trying to help San. "What's your relation to the boy?" One police officer asked. "We have no clue who he is, we just walked in and had to pull the man off of him." They continued to question them, and then they left San with the seven of them. A/N: unrealistic but idc
San started to open his eyes, and groaned loudly as he felt everything. "Guys, he's awake." Wooyoung said, and the others walked over. "Who are you?" San asked in a quiet voice. "We practically saved your life." Hongjoong said. "The man? Where is he?" San asked, looking around franticly. "Don't worry, the police took him." Seonghwa said. "When's your shift over?" Yunho asked. "At 5am." San replied. It was currently only 4am so he had an hour left of work. "Do you have anywhere to go after work?" Mingi asked. "N-no." San started to cry. "Hey, don't worry, you can come to our place. You can stay with us, and we'll help you find a safer job, because you shouldn't have to ever deal with this again." Jongho said reasurring San.
"I can stay with you? I don't even know you." San said. "Well I'm Wooyoung." Wooyoung said, and each of them went through ad intoduced themselves to San. "I'm San. Thank you for saving me, I actually thought he was going to kill me." San said, and began to cry once again. "San, it's okay, you're alive. And we won't leave. We want to make sure you're safe, so we will stay with you until your shift is over and then you can come over." Seonghwa said. The boys sat and talked with San until the next employee came in to have the next shift. Once she came in, the eight boys left, and they drove him to their house.
Over the next little while they all helped San, they got him a new job, one that's much safer, and they moved him into the guest bedroom at their house. They helped San, and cared for him. They treated him like a brother, and soon he was joined in as one of their best friends.
