I gazed at him with a mixture of confusion and unease, my mind racing with questions about why he was here at such a late hour. In the silence, I grappled with a sense of indecision, unsure of what to say or do. The air between us hung heavy with tension as we both stood there, each lost in our own thoughts. His expression hinted at an unspoken message, but the words seemed to trap him, leaving us both suspended in an uncomfortable silence.
"Hey," Jungkook said again.
"Jungkook, um, what are you doing here?" I asked him.
Jungkook blinked and scratched his neck. "Uh? I-I really don't know?" He looked down at his shoes.
"Sorry, I was just walking, and I saw you walking too, I followed you. Which is really weird and creepy I realized now that I'm saying it out loud. You probably think I'm a stalker now-"
I held my hand up for him to talk rambling.
"No, it's okay. You wanna come in?" Jungkook looked up with smiling eyes.
"Sure," I opened the door all the way to him.
He walks in and takes his shoes off. "Do you want anything to drink?" I asked, walking towards the kitchen.
"Uh... water, please." He said.
"You can sit on the couch if you want. Make yourself at home." I said.
"Okay. Thank you." I get to the kitchen and start freaking out.

"Why is he even here? What does he want?" I thought while pouring the water into a cup.
I walked to the living room, and he looked at some pictures. He was staring at my family pictures. I hoped he would see the one with us two in it, but he stopped and looked at me before getting to it.
"I'm just looking at the pictures," he said to me, acting like he was doing something he shouldn't be doing.
I nodded and sat on the couch.
"Here is your water," I mumbled when he walked over to me,
"thank you." he nodded and took it while sitting down a couple of feet away from me.
"Yeah," I mumbled softly, feeling the uncomfortable silence enveloping the room.
"You have a nice place," Jungkook said with a smile. "
Thank you, " I whispered, not staring not him.
A few minutes passed and neither one of us said anything. I didn't know what to say.
"Do I make you feel uncomfortable?" Jungkook asked, shifting so his body was facing me.
"What?" I asked, staring into his eyes.
They looked concerned.
"Do I make you uncomfortable?" He asked again.
"No," I gave him a short answer.
I find myself in a constant internal battle regarding him. On the one hand, I feel frustrated by his lack of memory about me, but on the other hand, I can't deny the strong urge to be close to him and feel his presence. I'm so confused.
"I'm going to go to the bathroom. I'll be right back," I said, getting off the couch and jogging to the bathroom.

[Jungkook'a POV]

I remember watching Caroline leave the living room to use the bathroom. I got off the couch and walked to the pictures again. I picked up the one with her in it and smiled. She was smiling and making a peace sign. She looked cute when she was young, about 17 or 18 in many of these pictures. Some were of little Caroline with her mother.
I don't know why I came here or followed her. I wanted to know why I remembered things and memories of us. I wanted to ask her if I knew her before my accident.
I placed down that photo and looked through her other ones. I hit my toe on the table's edge and knocked over a picture.
"Shit, shit, shit!" I panicked and bent down to see if it was broken.
The frame was broken, and glass was all over the floor.
"I'm going to get kicked out," I mumbled as I tried to clean up the glass.
I picked the frame up and turned it over. My heart stopped, and my breath hitched.

Looking at the photo, I noticed Caroline and someone else standing there. I couldn't see his face since it was torn out. I wondered why she framed it if she couldn't see the guy's face. She must have liked it since she looked good in it.
It was a moment frozen in time, capturing their genuine connection. My heart raced when I saw the photo. In the picture, a guy's arm was wrapped around Caroline's shoulder, and she had her arms around the guy's waist, her head resting comfortably against his chest. The warmth and joy in her smiles were so palpable that they brought a smile to my own face. I noticed that the guy's shirt was ripped, and I stared at it for a few seconds. That shirt looked like mine.

"Jungkook! Do you want to take a picture together?" I looked over to see a girl running towards me.
I smiled and laughed. "Of course!"
Since you have longer arms, can you take the picture?" she asked.
I nodded and took her camera from her.

"Are you ready?" She nodded and posed for the picture.

I saw a bright flash of light hit my eyes. I gasped while dropping the frame again. "What the hell?" I looked all around and then out a big window. Another flash of Lightning lit up the dark sky. I picked it back up and continued looking at it. I placed it down and rushed to get something to clean up the glass. Luckily, the broom was already out, so cleaning up the glass didn't take long.
I covered my mouth in disbelief and looked at the bathroom door.
I put it down quickly and ran back over to the couch. Caroline comes out with a smile. I sat up while keeping my eyes on hers.
"It's getting late. You must be very tired from today. I don't want to keep you awake," A clap of thunder made me jump.
I looked towards the window with wide eyes. I walked over to the window and glanced outside. It was pouring outside.
"Did you drive?"
"No, I walked, remember," I said, looking at her.
"Now you remember," I heard her grumble under her breath.
What's that supposed to mean?
"Looks like you're not going anywhere." Caroline sighed while walking up to me.
"I guess," I mumbled. Caroline moves away from me and walks to another room.
"You can use the guest room." She called from the other room.
"I can take the couch," I said. "No, you can use the guest room. I have more than enough room for you to sleep in," Caroline chuckles, making me smile.
"Okay, thank you," I mumbled.
I wait by the window while Caroline gets the guest room ready. I couldn't help but glance at the picture here and there. I had one and only one thought in my head. "I knew her before the accident. I must have,"

I quickly walked over and picked up the frame again, staring at it deeply. I was wearing the same shirt I had on in the picture that I had on now. I looked down at the ripped sleeve. I got it from a friend when I was 17.
Her bracelet got caught on my shirt, and I ripped it; the bracelet was fine. We laughed it off; I couldn't remember which girlfriend did it.
Her face or name didn't come to mind.  After the accident, I really couldn't remember the year I was 17. It's a blur to me. I didn't know if it was me, but I had the same shirt on as the guy in the photo. But some things come back to me. I glance over once I hear footsteps.
I put down the picture and turned around with a smile.
"It's done." She smiles.
"Thank you." I smiled back.
I walked over to the guest bedroom, and it looked nice—nothing too big. I nodded at her before closing the door. I plopped down on the bed and let out a sigh. I looked at my watch; it was almost 1 a.m.
"Geez, why did I have to come here?" I thought. I close my eyes for a few seconds. I curled up into a ball and felt myself slipped away into sleep.
