The full moon was four days away and Bex was having ridiculously increasing anxiety, she was always pacing which was unfortunate for her vampire companions. Her fingers were rubbed raw from the incessant tapping on the tops of counters, tables, couches, and anything else she could tap. Her eyes were bloodshot from crying and lack of sleep the nightmares were more aggressive now, making her scratch at her skin in her sleep, forcing Bekka to stay in her room at night and duck tape kitchen mittens to her hands.

Bex's lips were cracked and bloody due to her picking the top layer of skin off with her teeth, and the bloody noses became more frequent. Everyone in thay house was walking on eggshells aeound her everyone but Chris who was the only one who dared to cross the bridges everyone seemed to be afraid to even loos at.

Chris seemed to be the only person who was keeping Bex on her feet and in this reality, he was her lifeline and she was holding onto him for dear life. Klaus and Elijah had stopped their fued to worry about her and do whatever she needed, but most days she locked herself in her room and the only that could be heard was her muttering to herself, the sounds of a pencil moving on paper, and occasionally the scratch of a eraser furiously scraping away at the pages.

When Bex left her room it was to eat or go to the library or to ask for pencils and enveloped, because other than that she was in her room writing away, her left hand was bruised from all the writing and erasing.

Bex let out a shaky breath as she stared at the paper in front of her so far she only had one sentence; "I told Damon I would write his Eulogy but so far I only came up with this; Here lies Damon Salvatore, a bad vampire, a okay human, and a good friend." Her foot tapped against the carpeted floor underneath her desk, her yellow converse making soft noises as she did so.

She knew someone was on the other side of her door, trying to figure out how to talk to her, but she didn't make any move to unlock it. She was glued to her seat, she wanted to finish this letter, for Damon and for herself. Bex began to tap the eraser against the wooden desk biting the inside of her cheek and staring down at the white paper

Her green eyes darted to underneath her door, where a shadow stood wavering slightly before disappearing from her eyesight. Bex let her pencil drop from her hand and she slouched in her chair, her eyes closing as she sighed. She cast a look out the window behind her bed and stood up, cracking the bones in her back.

She licked her lips and looked quickly at her door before walking towards it and opening it, the second she opened the door She was greeted by the sight of an empty hallway and she walked down the stairs, where everyone else was. She could hear the quiet talking as she passed them, her hoarse voice echoing through the living room,

"I'm going for a walk."

All heads snapped to look at her and the conversation stopped,

"What?" Rebekah asked, her eyes wide

"I am going for a walk." She repeated pulling a jean jacket off the coat hanger and slipped it on before walking towards the door, "And no, I do not want any company." With the final word she left the front door quietly creaking closed

The group was left in silence before Chris stood up, "I'm gonna go see her." He said darting away from the group and out the front door

Bex had been piecing the pieces of the puzzle together slowly, the prophecy on a loop in her mind, just repeating over and over again non stop. Her eyes were studying the ground and street in front of her, and a frown was playing on her lips.

"Bananas!" Chris exclaimed catching up to her

"Hi, Chris." She said quietly, not turning to look at him

"Where are you going?" He asked her shoving his hands into the pockets of his jeans

"The Cliffs." Bex answered simply with a small shrug

Chris felt his eyes widened, "You're not gonna throw yourself off of them, are you?" He asked running a hand through his blond hair, his onyx eyes darting around cautiously

"No, I'm going to grab something." She explained

"Can I ask what?" Chris said his eyes not leaving her slouching figure

"My photo album." She paused, a sad look darkening her features momentarily, "I want to look at them one more time....before I kick the bucket." A hollow laugh passed her lips and she shook her head quietly repeating to herself, "Kick the bucket..."

Chris tensed besides her, before quickly relaxing hoping she didn't notice he spared her a quick glance but it seemed as if her eyes were glued to the ground. He sighed and Bex's mind began to wonder, why did he show up now? As Bex's mind began to create scary possibilities, Chris's mind was racing with troubling thoughts of his own.

Unconsciously, Bex's fingers began to tap against her upper thigh as she walked, her eyes occasionally glancing over a Chris as she made a startling discovery one that made her want to empty her stomach, and made her heart break in half. A discovery that made her eyes darken and a sickness creep into her stomach.

"You know, I found a way to save Marie. I don't like it but it's the only way." Chris said his eyes on the ground

"I'm happy for you." Bex said hollowly

"When it get her back, everything will will be fine, ya know?" A small forced smile laced his lips

She nodded in response her eyes empty, "That's great, Pickles, really."

Chris couldn't tell what was wrong, so he decided to talk again, a nervous ramble, one of his ticks, "When we find out who's going to this, I promise we will kill them-"

"Stop lying to me, Chrisy." Bex said quietly, stopping to turn and look at him, her eyes were shining with unshed tears and Chris felt his heart pick up

"I - I'm not lying to you, Bananas." Chris said with an awkward chuckle

"I know it's you, Chris." Bex said, her voice breaking as she met his gaze, "I know that you're gonna kill me in four days."

Chris stared at Bex worriedly, his eyes wide and mouth agape, He didn't know what to say.

"I want you to know, Chris, I'm not mad. If anything I'm relived, I'm glad you're the one who will kill me." Bex said softly, "I'm won't tell anyone, because they will most likely kill you." Bex laughed, "Because no matter what happens, Pickles, I will always love you." Bex grabbed his hand in hers, her green eyes searching his, "But tell me why, Chris, why me?"

Chris couldn't meet her eyes, his own were filling with tears, "It's the only way to get Marie back, someone I love for someone I love." He whispered to her staring at their hands

Bex smiled sadly, "I'm gonna help you, Chris. I promise." She made him look at her, "I owe you my life as it is, so this is perfect." She joked
