CHAPTER THREE

H a y d e n

Dylan came home the next day. I arrived an hour before he did. Tatiana was out with a friend, a gal pal whom she kisses from time to time. Really? Friends? I don't think so.

From Tati:
I'll be back in an hour or two. I'm with my friend, Lilac.

You replied to Tati:
Oo, yung ina-ate mo pa, jojowain mo din naman. 'Wag na tayong maglokohan dito.

From Tati:
Heh. I'm going to ignore you now.

You replied to Tati:
Tanggap naman kita. Alam mo 'yan.

From Tati:
Lels

You replied to Tati:
Eh, di lalo ka na. OB ka pa man din. Bet na bet ang specialty. ✌️

From Tati:
Walang malisya 'yon. Doctor naman ako. 😉

You replied to Tati:
Oh, sure. Sabi mo, eh.

From Tati:
Bitch.

You replied to Tati:
Love you!

That leaves me and my husband alone in the house. Perfect timing for the things I've read online.

"Hey, babe..." All I heard was a simple hmm. I didn't even get a kiss. "I didn't make any dinner. 'Di ko kasi alam na darating ka. Let's just order Chinese?" I kinda missed one thing on the list 'cause I wasn't able to prep something for him. He likes it when I cook. Dylan says he hates the bland food they serve at work. Funny, he's always in a five-star hotel. The man is the son of the owner of the hospital, me and Tati are attending. "What's with the long face?"

"I'm starving. Call our guy."

"Okay, darling."

When the delivery guy knocked, agad akong tumayo para pagbuksan 'to. "Thank you." I put down my phone, closing all of the tabs on my Chrome. I was reading some stuff on how to keep the fire burning in my marriage. I can't lose my man; I noticed some changes over the past months. Have to make my guy happy, as I promised on our wedding day. "Babe, the food's here!"

"I'll be down in a minute. I just have to take this call."

"Don't be too long."

All throughout the dinner, Dylan kept on babbling about how horrible work is. He looks really tired and I think he's worried about something. I've known the man for years, for me not to know that he's troubled. I married my best friend for that matter. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I am. Bakit?"

"You seem agitated. Something wrong?" The damn phone kept on ringing. Dylan tried to ignore it but I guess it's a pressing matter at work that he had excused himself. I watched him make his way to the balcony before putting away his coat and tie. "Babe, d'you want to watch a movie? Daming bago ngayon." "Oh, sorry."

"I'm afraid I will not be able to survive its first thirty minutes, babe."

"Ay, o, sige, ayos lang."

Last one on my mental list is to be casually sexy. After taking a quick shower, I had my black satin night dress.
