Jennie absentmindedly shoved food in her mouth as Irene and Rosé talked beside her.
The chattering abruptly stopped as they noticed Jennie’s silence.
“Are you okay?” Irene asked, pressing the back of her hand against Jennie’s forehead.
“Huh? Yeah. Why?” Jennie answered as she took Irene’s hand away from her forehead.
“You don’t have fever. So what’s wrong with you?”
“I haven’t had enough sleep. I’m so sleepy.” Jennie answered and pushed her tray away from her as she folded her arms on the table and laid her head on it.
“What’s new about that? You always say you haven’t had enough sleep even if you sleep for a century.” Rosé said nonchalantly.
“Yah!” Jennie yelled weakly.
“So, what happened?” Rosé probed as she finished Jennie’s food.
Jennie hesitated, biting her lower lip.
“Hi.” A familiar voice spoke and Jennie immediately raised her head.
“Ouch.” She said as her head suddenly ached a little because of the action.
“Are you okay?” Lisa asked worriedly.
“Yeah, yeah I’m fine.” Jennie answered with a smile.
“Can we, uh, join you guys?” Lisa asked shyly.
“Oh, yeah, sure. Please sit down.” Jennie said and scooted closer to Rosé to make room for the three newly arrived girls.
Lisa sat beside Jennie while Jisoo and Seulgi sat down beside Irene.
The table fell silent for a moment before Rosé faked a cough.
“Oh, right.” Jennie said and all eyes turned to her. “Err.. guys, this is Lisa, Seulgi and Jisoo.” Jennie introduced them and pointed at them respectively.
“Rosé and Irene, right?” Jisoo said and the two pretty girls nodded.
“You’re the girl from my chemistry class!” Seulgi exclaimed, pointing at Irene.
“Yeah, so?” Irene said with a raised brow.
“You wanted to copy my work—“ Seulgi said but was cut off mid-sentence.
“And you didn’t let me, nerd. You’re a selfish little kid, aren’t you?” Irene finished.
“Why you!” Seulgi stood up but Jisoo tugged on her hand and forced her to sit down.
“Aren’t we here to hang out with Jennie’s friends?” Jisoo said and Lisa nodded.
“Let’s all eat, shall we?” Rosé said.
They started eating their meals and Lisa noticed that Jennie didn’t have anything to eat.
“Why aren’t you eating?” Lisa asked in a low voice and Jennie turned her head towards Lisa.
“Oh, Jennie's not in the mood for food. She lack of sleep.” Rosé answered for Jennie.
“Why? Did something happen?” Lisa asked again.
“What? No, no.” Jennie gave Lisa an assuring smile.
“Here.” Lisa pushed her food tray towards Jennie.
“Huh?”
“Eat up. I’m not really hungry anyway.”
“But it’s yours and I’m fine, really. I’m not hungry too.” Jennie said, pushing the food tray back to Lisa.
