Sol and Luna : Chapter 7 - Melancholy is everyone

"You've been lacking emotions for the past few days" Coach Marian told Sela, "so for today's activity. You will have to sing two songs with pure emotion." 

Sela nodded as she handed out the list of the songs she'll about to sing.

"You came prepared" Coach Marian replied with a smile and gave a quick glance to Alice who was scratching her head with a funny smile, "Let's see if you can deliver"

She gripped the mic as the music starts to play.
Everyone held their breath.
Sela started singing.

"Unti unting lunurin ang ang aking nadarama. Oh buhos ng ulan wag ng tumila pa. Paano nga ba mapapawi labas na pag durusa kung wala ng pag asa. Turuan mo naman akong limutin ka.."

Sela gave a weak smile after the song.
Everyone was shocked.
They have never heard Sela sang a sad song as intense as this one.

She looked at Abby who was beside Yzabel, looking conflicted and confused.
She moved her gaze to Alice who was smiling at her.
Alice nodded.
Sela returned the gesture.

"That was great Sela. Impressive!" coach Marian told her, "and your next song is?"

Sela paused for a moment and raised her hand showing 4 fingers.

"Number 4 is it?" Coach Marian asked Sela with a raised eyebrow

"I reckon this might help me in doing better rap" Sela explained.

"Well, let's see then" coach Marian replied as she plays the song.

Everyone gasped and giggled as they hear the first note. Everyone except Yzabel and Abby.

"Kapag naaalala ko ang mga araw..." Sela started singing.

She closed her eyes and tried to feel the song.
"Make sure those songs count" She can hear Alice telling her earlier.
Sela smiled as the chorus starts to play.
She continued to sing with her eyes closed and as the song goes to the final chorus
Sela opened her eyes and looked straight to Abby's eyes.

"Kaya salamat sa pag-ibig mo, ibig mo. Lagi kang nasa puso't isip ko, isip ko. At inaamin ko na mimiss kita, na na mimiss kita. Sa akin ikaw parin ang Abby ko, ang Abby ko kahit wala ka na sa piling ko. Ipag dadasal pa rin kita..."

Everyone was silent, even Coach Marian has her mouth in open.

Two things were running on everyone's mind.

First, they weren't sure if it was Abby or Baby that they heard.
So their eyes move from Sela to Abby and back to Sela.

Second, Sela's seemingly sad tone stirred something inside them that they can't explain.

Their coach was the first one to recover and broke the silence.

"...ehem, Thanks Sela, that was great. You're back" Their coach said nervously.

Sela handed the mic, took one last glance at Abby, smiled, then sat down.

Alice, Jem and the rest of Tatlogs patted Sela's back.

"That was good" Alice commended Sela, "Have you made up your mind?"

Sela shook her head.

"Not yet, but I'm at least sure of one thing" Sela replied.

"And that is?" Sheki asked.
