After helping Ben home, the losers parted ways, Nina and Stanley going to Memorial Park to go bird watching. They paddled hand in hand to go there, laughing at a few silly jokes. When they arrived at the park Nina put a picnic cloth onto the grass. While Stanley was bird watching, she was laying on her stomach, reading a book before Stanley tapped her shoulder.

She took his binoculars and put it to her eyes, looking at the bird that he had spotted. Neither of them could recognize the bird. She frowned as she put the binoculars down. ''I've never seen that one, have you?'' He shook his head, frowning as he looked at the bird again.

''Never seen it before. I don't even recognize it to be honest.'' She hummed in response, grabbing his book 'A guide to field identification birds of north America.', but not finding the bird in it anywhere. They both quickly turned around when they heard a loud noise behind them.

When neither of them saw anything, Nina got up softly enough that she made no sound at all. her breathing quickened and she felt a weird sensation in her stomach as she played with her hands before she took a few steps forward. The sound came the stand pipe. It had been closed down years ago after a few kids drowned in the water when they snuck inside the building past midnight.

''How is that possible?'' Stanley now got up too, grabbing Nina's hand for comfort, both of their hands shaking as they walked towards the stand pipe, seeing that the lock had seemed to be shot. ''You don't think anyone is actually in there, right?'' She raised her shoulders the slightest bit possible, scared to make any movements or sounds and pushed the door open, hearing a weird music play inside. When he got no response, he frowned. ''Nina? What are you looking at?''

She looked up at him again, blinking a few times before tugging on his hand. ''We should get out of here.'' He frowned at her as she pulled him with her, gathering their stuff and putting it in her back before mounting her bike, riding away from the park and from the stand pipe.

''Nina, what did you see back there? Was it Bowers?'' She shook her head, it hadn't been Bowers. She couldn't actually believe what she'd seen, she was still shaking a bit, not even holding his hand as they were paddling towards her home.

''No it was ... I was most likely just seeing stuff.'' She shook her head louder now, laughing a bit. ''I thought I saw dead kids.'' Stan froze on his bike, so he wasn't the only one who saw them.  He decided not to tell her that he too saw the same dead kids right in front of them and not just kids, a weird looking man with white gloves and a red nose.

''We must be tired and scared of Bowers because of what he did to Ben. I'll drop you off at home and we'll both get some sleep. We've most likely forgotten about it by tomorrow. Right?'' She gave a soft nod, Stanley was most likely right, she was just tired.

''Yeah, you're right.''

When Nina woke up the next morning, she had forgotten about the day before, just like Stanley had predicted, she instead focused on getting herself ready to go to the quarry with the other losers. It had been a while since she boys had seen her in swimwear and she felt a bit conscious about her body. She shook it off and got herself dressed, leaving the house with Bill and meeting the boys on top of the  high mountain landing in the quarry.

The boys all stood on the edge, playing a game of loogie. It was disgusting to watch as they all spit over the cliff. She leaned her head on her hands which were resting on her knees. She sighed as Richie and Eddie were arguing about who won, until Bill finally broke it up.

''Alright. Who's first?'' Nina stood in between Stanley and Bill, her arm resting on Bill's shoulder, before they all had to turn around to face Beverly.
