Mia's POV

"Whew, lunch time, finally!" I said under my breath. I pushed open one of the doors that notified me that it needed some oiling in the hinges by creaking. Above the door it had a sign of purple and orange. The creaks from the door caught the attention from people at a few near tables. I waltzed over to the lunch line and grabbed a limited edition Laketon's Lions food tray that looked like it was from 1968, or the war. I placed a chocolate milk from Kawartha Dairy, an apple, one slice of my cafeteria's greasy pizza. I still needed a straw, napkin, and to pay using my student card; a few people in front of me we're having trouble with their student cards. They were probably fake. Someone beside me started humming a song, I swear I knew it from somewhere. I had to! Da da da da da da da da---da da da da da daaa -that's it! Do You Want To Build A Snowman from Frozen! I started to quietly hum along and immediately stopped as they did. They looked over and it was him Jack. We exchanged awkward hello's and hi's eventually. Neither of us really knew what to do at that point. But he certainly had an idea suddenly. He kissed me.

It was passionate, on his side, me however, I was startled and didn't know what was going on. I didn't really pull away but I was hesitate. When it was over, I decided "Hey, let's ruin my own life!" So I said to Jack, "Thank you."

I ran out of the cafeteria and to my locker. I dropped off my backpack and ran to the bathroom. I locked myself in a stall.

In the stall next to me I heard a girl trying to hold in her sobs. "Hello?" I said, "Who are you?"
"What's it to you? Do you want to tell the whole school about me, why I'm here in the bathroom crying?" She said hesitantly, like she had to say it or she'd be shot.
"I was just wondering," I said back, "Your not the only one with things happening."
"You don't even know me! You don't know what is even going on with my life. You have no idea and I bet your 'things' aren't even bad!" She said to me angrily.
"Not all bad" I thought to myself.
