Chapter 3

It was quiet between all of you until you spoke again, your head was down trying not to look at Laurance . "Gene lets go, I have to finish my patrol." Gene just nods and tells Zenix that they'll talk later.

"(Y/n)-" Laurance starts but you cut him off.

"I don't want to hear it Laurance," and you just continue to walk away not noticing Gene stopping and looking back at Laurance before following you again,

"So...that was something..." Gene says, you don't respond. You hear him sigh next to you before he speaks again.

"You're scaring people ya know?"

"Excuse me,"

"Well with the fact that you look both pissed and annoyed, as well as stomping your feet people are just clearing the way for you,"

"Oh..." your cheeks turned slight pink as you straighten yourself out as you continued to walk. Gene notices the blush and laughs causing your cheeks to turn more red. "Shut up, I'm embarrassed it's normal!" You stuttered out and pouted, you also turned away from him as he continued to laugh.

"I apologize-," he finally says but continues to chuckle a bit. "-it's just that look kinda cute, especially with that pout- Oof!" You swung your elbow into his gut, and he clutches his stomach in pain. "H-hey you can't do that I'm injured here!"

"Too bad, I did it anyway."

"Jeez woman..." and yet he still lets out a hoarse laugh which then causes you to join in as well. And you two start to finish up your patrol on a good note.

On the way back to the house though, Gene asks why you lashed out at Laurance.

"Why would you want to know? It's kinda boring, plus I doubt you want to hear about my failed attempt at having a love life,"

"Well, I technically have nothing else to do, and trust me I'm a good listener and it seems you need to get some stuff off of your chest."

"Yeah...but..."

"Come on please, I won't tell anyone my lips are sealed." And he "zips" up his lips and throws away the "key". You sigh.

"Alright... Fine but I'm going to start at the beginning."

And you begin your story which starts off with you and Zane arriving at Phoenix drops for Donna and Logan's wedding. You weren't supposed to be there but you snuck on the ship anyway. Little did you know at the time Zane had something sneaky up his sleeve.

Then you told him how you were reunited with Garroth, Zane then turning a child into a shadow knight and revealing he's actually a psychopath, then meeting Laurance who was blind at the time and was a redhead.

"Really? He was a redhead?" Gene laughs as he interrupts your story.

"Well his sister actually dyed it so that they would look more similar since they are adopted siblings. Oh! And Aphmau told me that he used to have green eyes as well before they magically turned the baby blue that they are now,"

"And why's that?"

"Shush I was getting there before you interrupted me."

"Sorry."

So you continued and told him that the one way they get rid of that black stuff Zane spawned in the town square from the ritual was a Lady Irene statue Aphmau built.  Which, is also the reason she believes Laurance was able to regain his sight.
