It was lying awake at night without Amelia by his side when it hit Isaiah the most. He thought he could live through their shared messed up world without her. It was clear now he'd never been so mistaken before. She kept his head from going under and without her, nothing else seemed quite as important.
It was true, he loved being in a gang. For the first time in his life he felt apart of something, in a way it gave his life purpose. Still, what was the point of being apart of something if he didn't have her. Isaiah couldn't remember what it was like before Amelia Shelby and he didn't want to get to know what it would be like after her.
"Amelia Shelby open up" Isaiah shouted, pounding on the door and hoping by the grace of God that her brothers and Polly weren't in.
The door flung open, "What Isaiah?" She snapped, her face eclipsed by sadness, she looked tired. Her eyes held a fragility that made Isaiah afraid to speak.
"Can I come inside?" He questioned before entering the house after Amelia nodded in response, "I'm sorry" He blurted out.
The brunette had to scoff, "Sorry doesn't even begin to fix this, why are you even here"
"To do this" His words caressed her ears as he grabbed her waist, pulling her up against his chest. She could feel it instantly, her barriers crumbling, he never had to put up much of a fight, "I didn't know how to love you before, now I don't know how to stop" Her arms wrapped around his neck as he looked at Amelia in a way he had never looked at another girl, "I want you Amelia Shelby" The rest of the world became an unimportant blur as the words fell from his teasing lips, "Fuck it, I'm completely in love with you, there I said it" He continued to stare into her eyes, cupping her cheeks that had become flushed a crimson red, before leaning down.
His fingers gently ran up and down her spine, their foreheads rested lovingly against each other. She stifled a surprised gasp as her soft lips were captured by his. It was just Amelia and Isaiah. Nothing else existed. The world in that moment belonged solely to them, "I love you, Isaiah" She muttered against his lips causing him to lift her up from the ground, Amelias legs instinctively wrapped around his waist as she erupted into giggles, "Take me upstairs"
His eyes brows furrowed as he pushed a loose pieces of hair behind her ear, "Are you sure, love?"
"I'm sure, I want to do this" She smiled, nuzzling her head into his neck as he carried Amelia to her bedroom.
Being in love didn't come easy to Isaiah, but now that he had it, he wasn't ever going to give it up.
