Chapter 6: Players and Pieces | Part two | His Sacrifice and Promise

*SPLAT*

"YYYYYYY/NNNNNN! NOOOO!"

A few moments before:

Ruby watched as Y/N dashed forward, cocking his fist back for a punch.

What was he doing!? There's no-way he could take on a Deathstalker by himself! Granted, he was able to defeat several Grimm along the way to the others, but that was different. This was something he just couldn't do by himself! She should help him-Wait woah! The speed of those punches were incredible! She'd never seen that kind of speed before, not even from Yang. 

She watched as Y/N stopped his onslaught. She also watched as the Deathstalker's claw began to close around him. She had to move now, she had to save him! Before, she didn't want to get in the way like she had done before in previous circumstances. But now was the time, maybe even past the time she should have gone to help him. 

Ruby barely heard her sister call her name, the only thought in her head was to save Y/N before it was too late.

It all happened in a flash of white, red, and black.

Weiss had rushed in, creating a wall of ice to stop the Deathstalker's tail. Y/N had blasted back the Deathstalker's claw, turning just in time to try and block its tail from piercing Ruby's body. Ruby had rushed in and stopped in a panic seeing the Deathstalker suddenly attack her.

*SPLAT*

 *Drip* *Drip* *Drip*

Y/N's bloody hand dripped blood onto the ice-shield. He had just caught it before it could do any damage to Ruby.

"~P-Phew, that was close . . . Glad you're not hurt, Red. Thanks for the ice-shield Weiss, I owe ya . . . ~"

"Y/N! Y-Your hand is-!" Ruby gasped. She couldn't see much other than blood dripping down from Y/N's hand. "I-I'm so sorry-!" She began, nearly crying

"~Shhhhhhh, It's fine Red, my hand isn't all that bad!~ You've got nothing to apologize for. If anyone should apologize, it's me. I nearly wasn't able to save you, but don't worry. From this moment on, I promise, to protect you from mortal harm~" Y/N said, putting his fist to his heart

"B-But why-?" Ruby began to say

"Because . . . Well, there's several reasons, so I won't be going into detail here. Also the Deathstalker's about to attack again Red, better prepare yourself! Same goes for you Weiss!~"

Weiss blushed, "Ok, will do . . . " She managed to say before focusing her attention to the Deathstalker.

"~Alright, here's the plan everyone, I've got a special technique that I'm going to use~

"What is it?" Weiss asks

"Well, I'm going to use my legs~"

"Your legs?" Ruby asked confused

"Yeah, we're going to . . .

HOT-TAIL IT OUT OF HERE! NIGUNDAYO!~" Y/N says grabbing the two along with him. 

The Deathstalker broke free of the ice and began to advance upon them. To make matters worse, the Nevermore from before saw Ruby and launched an onslaught of its feather's at the young girl.
